Important Message For DC Voters, re: Incorrect Polling Places
Edited on Sat Sep-02-06 08:58 PM by journalist3072
I posted this in the D.C. section of the State and Country Forums here on DU. But I'm not sure how many of my fellow D.C. DUers visit that section of the board, so I thought I'd post in GD as well.

I just wanted to encourage all DC voters who will be voting in the primary on September 12, to ensure that the DC Board of Elections and Ethics has you listed to go to the CORRECT polling place.

Today, my family and I received the Voter Guide for the 2006 primary in the mail. And they have us listed for the wrong polling location; a polling location no where near my house. The booklet was produced by the DC Board of Elections and Ethics.

Please do yourself a favor and look on the back of the book, where they have your mailing label affixed. You will see something that says "Your Polling Place # Is ________."

See what number that is, and then turn to Page 55 in the book, where they begin listing the polling locations, including their address. If on the back of the book they have your polling location as Number 6 for example, turn to Page 55 and see what the address is for Number 6, and make sure that is your correct pollling location.

I know I read or heard last week that the DC Board of Elections and Ethics really screwed up with the polling locations this year, and so that confirmed it for me, when we received the booklet today listing us at the wrong polling location.

Of course, if you vote at the wrong location, your vote will be invalidated. So, please make sure they have you at the correct polling location.
