3. Me too
Between the docudrama that will blame Clinton for 911 and the attacks on the Wilson's, I'm even madder than I was which was pretty damn mad. And the fact that they won't even play commercials proves that they don't care about the money but just helping out the republicans in the upcoming election. My hope is that people will be outraged and that their over reaching will come back and slap them in the face.

4. I remember when I was about 7 years old
I was yakking with my friend in the back seat of the car when I said I hated someone. My dad pulled over, stopped the car and with a look that could kill said, "I don't EVER want to hear those words out of your mouth EVER again."
No one heard those words out of my mouth for years and years - until recently. There is simply no other way to describe the feelings I have for these people.
I have to apologize to my dear departed dad every day, but I think he understands :)

6. I don't usually use the word hate
but I have never been so angry or distressed about our country, and I truly believe that they are destroying our country.

9. I know the feeling! And
this is coming from someone who voted Republican from Eisenhower through (though reluctantly) George H.W. Bush. But there was a time when Republicans were Americans.

10. Welcome to DU, and I can assure you...I do not hate you.
I hate dickheads like Santorum, that little ratbastard who we all know was a total dink in high school and deserves a public bitchslapping, and that bigmouthed Pat Buchanan who's wormed his way onto several soapboxes and screams his racist opinions all over the airwaves.

Then there's the rest of the list. We all know who's on our own list of total dickheads.

I was taught not to hate, also....but I fucking HATE the bastards.

11. hate is just another word
for 'everything left to lose'...

It's perfectly OK to feel the hate, loathing, revulsion, rejection, disgust. Feel it, acknowledge it, wallow in it. Punch pillows and cry. There are people who dish out so much negativity, and cause so much harm and loss to others that to suppress a natural adverse reaction to them would be feeding a Big Lie.

Then get up and fight against the forces that made us feel so bad. They depend on our paralysis. They depend on our conflict about, "am I a bad person for hating?" They depend on our shock at being victimized.

DO something to counterract what they have done--channel the anger appropriately. In this case take heart that this is a collective rejection. Nobody has to fight this battle alone. Look at Cindy Sheehan.
She made her personal well of hate for a brutal administration much larger. She could have turned it inward but she turned it outward. Not everyone can do it on that scale, but every little bit we do to counter the Repiglican agenda is a positive contribution. It will make us stronger.

You don't have to hate people who are so twisted up they have lost any sense of right and wrong. You don't have to hate people who vote out of fear and delusion. Just hate what they stand for and work against it.
