Just last week,I read three Shakespeares.
I like the way those English talked in the old days. Heh,heh, heh. Never did figure out what "Catch the conscience of the king" meant. Heh,heh, heh.

1. Ok, I'm all for reading books... but this country is falling apart,
soldiers are coming home in body bags, money is flying out of the piggy bank left and right... I'm sorry, but leisure book reading is not what I call a priority... The time to have learned what these books had to say was back in highschool and college.

5. personal point of view here, but
seems to me that if people read (and understood) more, and didn't relegate learning to "back then", we might not be in such a damnable mess.

17. NOW is always the best time for learning,
regardless of age and what may or may not have been learned in the past.

I don't think our national court jester's announced summer reading list has anything to do with learning, with thinking, or with any of his real priorities. I also sincerely doubt his priorities have anything to do with our financial health or the quality of human life on the planet.

7. I've never heard an educated person say it that way
"Three Shakespeares"??? That sounds like something a middle school kid would say. Wouldn't an educated adult have said "I read some Shakespeare?" Or "I read three Shakespeare plays?"

Give me a break...this shitstain can't make it through an Archie comic and they want us to believe he read something that had words with more than 2 syllables.
What is he going to do for an encore? Beowulf?

11. If Dimson were doing the JOB of a President, he'd hardly have
TIME for 53 books in a year.

Most Presidents in the modern era barely had time to do the job and get a decent night's sleep!

He's guilty on three counts:
1. He's Lying.
2. He's Bragging.
3. He's Goofing Off on the People's Dime.

12. He did, he did !!!! His handlers have given up trying
to teach him to read famous books. Now they are
teaching him to read the name of a famous author.

And, with their help, he read the word Shakespeare,
three times. !!!!

15. See? It does sound like he's 8 and talking about baseball cards.
Edited on Sun Sep-03-06 02:18 PM by sfexpat2000
Baseball cards his daddy bought for him when he pitched a fit. :)

Edit: And it's not exactly like betting because you have to be a man or at least, a somewhat aware kid to bet.

Children talk about numbers as if more is better. Betting is so much more grown up!
