A guy walks into a store and orders a moon pie and a glass of milk.

The clerk looks at him curiously and declares "You must be a Republican!".

The man says to the clerk "If I had ordered a Latte would you have thought I was a Democrat?".

"No", replied the clerk.

"If I had ordered an herbal tea would you have assumed I was a member of the Green Party?", the man asked.

"No", replied the clerk.

"Well, how do you know I'm a Republican, just by my ordering a Moon Pie and a glass of milk?"

"Well,", replied the clerk, "Because this is a hardware store"
