Santorum, Casey go toe-to-toe on familiar ground (local paper)
For those watching Pennsyltucky’s U.S. Senate race for the last 18 months, the impression — outside of the partisans — is that little new ground was unearthed now that Rick Santorum and Bob Casey Jr. have finally debated.

They sat two inches apart for an hour on today's "Meet the Press" without scratching one another's eyes out.

Yet the early consensus is that, if there was a winner of this morning’s debate, it was Casey.

(snip)
Casey scored hits as he calmly questioned why Santorum hasn’t pressed sanctions-opponent Vice President and former Halliburton CEO Dick Cheney to support the senator’s plan to use sanctions to pressure Iran.

Casey, meanwhile, kept his composure throughout the debate and didn’t fall on his face.

1. Santorum was shrill and angry, Casey calm and articulate.
Which would you pick to represent you?

So long, Rick.

2. It's unfair that I answer this because I lived in PA for a long time,
and I've detested Santorum for even longer! I watched the quasi debate today, and Santorum's arrogance and angercame through loud and clear! Stuff it Ricky!

LET'S GO CASEY!!!

3. e-mail from Mr. Casey's campaign
Dear GV,

On today's Meet the Press debate with Tim Russert, Bob Casey offered a New Direction while Rick Santorum offered praise for Donald Rumsfeld and George Bush.

Watch the Video Highlights

Patriot News reporter, Brett Lieberman, who was in the studio today wrote:

"Yet the early consensus is that, if there was a winner of this morning's debate, it was Casey."

The headline of a story by Christopher Lilienthal from the Capitolwire news service read:

"Santorum lauds Rumsfeld in debate, Casey calls for his firing"

Here are some of my favorite lines from the debate:

SEN. SANTORUM: I think Secretary Rumsfeld has done a fine job as the defense secretary,...
---
BOB CASEY: And I think when you point to the 9/11 question on Saddam Hussein, and you point to this crazy theory that there's still weapons of mass destruction, Tim, I think you've unearthed something. You've unearthed the 2 percent of the time that Rick Santorum disagrees with President Bush, and I think that's new information for this campaign.
---
SEN. SANTORUM: I think has been a terrific president, absolutely.

Stay Tuned,

4. Santorum is a Xtian Nationalist,,,,Casey's first impression....
...to me was not very good. I only saw the first 5 minutes of the MEET THE PRESS debate and the first thing that came out of Casey's mouth that made me go "Is that Libermen?" was when Casey said "We dont need a time line for Iraq, we need a change in leadership."

The Leadership part is very, very true but not having a timeline to redeploy is the same as saying "We dont have a plan." With bases surrounding Iraq in Turkey, Kuwait and Qutar there in no reason to stay IN Iraq. The Jihad that the muslems are going through is because of western presents in the country, the Middle is a bloody mess because of false allegations and manipulation of a GOP that has an evil agenda. With Chriatian Nationalist behind the scenes within our Government, the course is that of a Relvational Apocalypse thats being forced to happen thanks to Hagee and Company who make weekly calls to the White House.

Casey may be the better of two evils, so I hope he does get the seat...Santorum is just a puppet, a brainless puppet.
