Interesting site advertising here on DU. eta: whoops, cutting and pasting the text from the advertisement failed (see title of thread). eta again: I tried again, but my arabaic posting fu is weak.

Anyone know anything about the site. How does it compare to Al Jazeera?

I types in the URL for the site (http://www.al-khayma.com/) into google, and hit translate page.

UAE, I'm thinking, but Egyptian's in the running. Ras al-Khayma is a place in the UAE. My rudimentary background knowledge about Arabic includes the probably specious claim that the use of final 'y' without the dots under it is an Egyptian peculariarity; this doesn't use the dots.

Having clicked on their webpage, I'm now checking for spyware.
