Ugh. I'm going to get all moralistic here, but this isn't really directed at you. It's just one of my pet peeves. As someone who's been in the webhosting biz since 1997 this isn't a bit funny, even if it happened to a freep's site. Although I've always been security conscious and kept my personal sites all updated with the latest security fixes I have had denial of service attacks against me before. The people who do this are amoral scum. They cost everybody a great deal of money, time and often the loss of invaluable data. They inhibit free speech.

I'm no longer in business (being disabled) but we shouldn't be encouraging unlawful and unsocial behavior. It's just not behavior we should condone or even give tacit approval to as liberals and progressives.

since there are only two I know of we can't talk about, and I think one of them is history. I've trolled there too, and once before their site went down when hacked so I lost my ID and never bothered to go back. These guys aren't too bright about security.

Anyway, the message I got is a little different:

And Salvorhardin is right-- while maybe once in a blue moon hacking a site might be a revolutionary act, hackers that do this are almost always just antisocial scum getting their jollies by anonymously making others miserable. Maybe I'd think more along the lines of schadenfreude if Little Green Footballs went down, but hackers are still scum,and they do it simply because they find a security flaw, not because of some political action.
