Ever notice? It takes a village to raise up a DUer.
They can keep their Screw You types. At DU, a motley crew has gathered, representing the entire scope of the political spectrum. But, one thing binds us, and that is our concern for one another and our willingness to express it. Think about it. We`re not all related, we`re not even neighbors, but most every day you can find heartwarming examples of human compassion here.

Have you ever noticed how quickly members reply to a post written by someone in need, someone sad or worried or overwrought? Ever read a thread about a member`s son en route to Iraq or someone`s deceased father being honored on Father`s Day? We`ve had posts about being out of work, dealing with a sick loved one, suffering with PTSD. I can`t think of a single time DUers didn`t come through.

Chances are we`ve all heard snide comments about tolerance, being your brother`s keeper. I`m grateful that here at DU we show another way.

Thank you, DUers.

My car died Saturday. Fortunately, it doesn't look serious. I was thirty miles away at my mom's house!
