Homosexuals give Ford no public support - AFA Claims Victory!
Bizarre email that found its way to my inbox - methinks they take too much credit for things.

September 5, 2006

Ford Sales Drop 11.6%. Homosexual Groups More Important Than Support For Employees, Dealers.

Homosexuals give Ford no public support despite falling sales due to AFA boycott

Dear XXXX,

The boycott of Ford Motor Company continues to be effective. Sales in August dropped 11.6%. This follows drops of 5% in March, 7% in April, 2% in May, 6.8% in June and 4.1% in July.

Ford is taking several actions to halt falling sales, but none of them include ending financial support for homosexual groups promoting same-sex marriage. Ford lost $1.4 billion in the first half of the year.

Rather than save money by cutting financial support to homosexual groups, Ford plans to cut production by 21%, trim the number of dealers, reportedly is seeking a merger or alliance with another auto maker, studying taking the company private, and considering selling their Jaguar, Volvo and Land Rover units.

Chrm. Bill Ford puts the support for homosexual groups ahead of Ford's support for employees and dealers. Dealers and employees should be calling Chrm. Ford, asking him to stop supporting the homosexual agenda. The Detroit Free Press reported that Ford gives hundreds of thousands of dollars to homosexual groups. Over 40 pro-family leaders urged Ford to remain neutral in the homosexual marriage battle, but Ford refused.

While Ford, General Motors and Chrysler had similar financial problems when the AFA boycott began, most analysts see General Motors and Chrysler conditions improving. While not responsible for all of Ford's financial problems, the boycott is not doubt having a major effect. Ford blames it on the cost of gasoline. But General Motors and Chrysler face the same problem of $3 a gallon gas, yet their situation is improving.

Ford heavily marketed the Jaguar and Volvo units to the homosexual community, offering cash donations of $500 to $1000 to homosexual groups for each Jaguar or Volvo sold. The homosexual community has given Ford no public support, despite the massive support Ford has given them.

Last November Ford agreed to make some changes, then reneged after meeting with homosexual leaders. If Ford would honor their commitment, AFA would end the boycott.

For more information on the Ford boycott, visit BoycottFord.com. Every homosexual group Ford supports has as their top goal the legalization of homosexual marriage.

Changes Ford agreed to make, then reneged after meeting with homosexual leaders.

Ford would not renew current promotions or create future incentives that give cash donations to homosexual organizations based on the purchase of a vehicle.

Ford would not make corporate donations to homosexual organizations that, as part of their activities, engage in political or social campaigns to promote civil unions or same-sex marriage.

Ford would stop giving cash and vehicle donations or endorsements to homosexual social activities such as Gay Pride parades.

Ford would cease all advertising in homosexual websites and media outlets (magazines, television, radio) in the U.S. with the exception of $100,000 already budgeted to be used by Volvo. The Volvo ads would be the same ads used in the general media and not aimed at the homosexual community specifically.

1. Ford makes crap. Nobody should be supporting them,
Until Ford's management and accountants use quality materials again.

5. Is that not the strangest thing you have ever read.
This is like O'Reilly claiming that French tourism has suffered because of his little brie boycott.

Obviously they aren't
I mean...you heard the AFA...
Clearly Ford was a thriving company that was the most profitable company in the whoooole history of the universe until they decided to support gay rights legislation.

6. Silly me, I though you meant Harold Ford, Jr., Tn Dem Senate candidate
who is opposed to "gay marriage".

Nonetheless, he is the Dem candidate and would help the nubmers of Dems in the Senate to achieve a majority.

However, it's hard to understand the "conservative" Democrat mindset.

Ford's lackluster sales.

I think it might have something to do with their having made crappy automobiles over a sustained period, and marketing forces, etc.

I grew up largely on Fords. I like their imperfect cars a LOT more than I like Wildmon's grossly distorted Christianity.

8. 170,000 miles and counting on my Ford
I am however, impatiently awaiting its death so I can get a hybrid. Fuel prices are killing me.

11. Yep. I had a Ford wagon a while back that went 156,000 before it
keeled over dead. But the damn thing hummed along for years. I still miss it.

I hear you on gas prices. They dipped this week but they'll climb again soon, I suspect.

Gotta keep Dick Cheney's pals happy.

Hey there, FLDem5. A big day for you folks tomorrow. We'll be watchin'.

9. So once the Fundie trade comes back,
all those Expeditions and F-250s and Explorers are going to go flying off the lots, right? Probably not. The Fundies are pretty stupid but they aren't dumb. They buy gas like the rest of us. Ford and GM are losers, and if there is one company that is capable of going down the tube and dragging one of the great European names with it, it would be Chrysler. This is what passes for American management now.

ford makes decent cars but the problem is that the toyota and honda are just a bit better at a cheaper cost-they do not have the pension and health care costs the us based manufactures have per car

19. I retired after 30 long years with Ford - in the Sales Division. The
bulk of my income comes from my pension with Ford. And I am blessed with wonderful benefits as well. I wish them nothing but the best, although I know their products have not done well with the other countries that we compete with...and I agree many of their products ARE better. And for that I mourn.....but I blame much on our fucking government for the last 30 years.

If B*** keeps his shit up in office I wonder HOW long I'll have benefits, OR a pension at all.

Everyone is so mean lately....B*** NEEDS TO GO.

21. Well, I had a fine little Escort Wagon for quite a time
Put a ton of miles on it, no issues, gave it to a relative, still going strong and the thing is in its teens. It has a hundred and a good big chunk thousand miles on it, and still goes along without a fuss. Gets GRAND mileage, too. Cheap to operate, never craps out, no issues. Gas and regular oil changes, and there ya go.

When they got it right, they got it RIGHT. Would that they could get it right again...

20. Ford's falling sales after AFA (a small obscure group) launches "boycott."
A classic example of David Hackett Fisher's "post hoc ergo propter hoc" logical fallacy: "after this, therefore because of this", in English.

Proving correlation is impossibe: one can merely claim it and try to have others to agree through vitality of argument.

There are many other things at work: shift to smaller, more economical on the gas auto; decrease in truck sales of all sorts; and an increase in Ford's reliability. As for Volvo and Jaguar, they are "prestige" cars, and why anyone would want to dump them is unthinkable to me, a devoted Volvonator. The most bang for the buck on the market, what can one say about an older 240? Now that the pesky electrical problems with Jag are over, if I had only the money...

If Ford goes under, I don't know what will happen to the US economy, unless GM and Ford combine, give over to trucks/minivans and the other to autos, with an emphasis on German/Swedish style reliability and Japanese fuel economy.

22. So, all five members of AFA won't buy Fords?
Edited on Mon Sep-04-06 11:04 PM by Fighting Irish
Big freakin' deal!

The whole car industry is soft. And it's not because of the AFA boycott.

Wildmon thinks he's more important than he really is. I haven't heard a peep from him in years. I thought he was dead.

And what's the deal with all these loony groups using the word "family" so casually? He certainly doesn't speak for my family.
