Trimming Michigan operations and laying off or moving upwards of 1600 jobs to China and Mexico hasn't hurt them either.

Pro-Alticor ads follow criticism of DeVos

Concerned about political attacks from Democrats, Alticor, the parent company of Amway, is airing TV ads aimed at shoring up its image as a caring, family-oriented Michigan employer.

The ads were launched this week as Democrats and Gov. Jennifer Granholm stepped up their criticism of Republican gubernatorial candidate Dick DeVos' ties to Amway, which was renamed Alticor in the late 1990s.

The 30-second ads use company employees praising the company. Democrats say the Alticor ads are a side-door campaign to shore up DeVos' image.

DeVos campaign spokesman John Truscott said there is no collaboration between the campaign and Ada-based Alticor.

4. I've always suspected that..........

everytime the "The Proctor & Gamble Company was founded by Devil-worshippers" rumor gets started again that it is the AmWay "disciples" that get the ball rolling!

Afterall, Proctor & Gamble is the "Big Fish" in the products market that AmWay is trying to take over

5. I know a guy in Michigan who used to promote Amway in the Pacific

They were so good at it that they would sell their starter kits (or whatever in the hell the call 'em) to every adult in the village.
It was like a religion. Total rip-off and they were laughing all the way to the bank.

They tales he tells about those experiences are just absolutely incredible.

7. I still can't get a straight explanation from anyone about what Amway does

I seriously cannot figure out what that company does, what it sells and what it's means of production are.

and if Dick DeVos doesn't like Michigan so much, why doesn't he just leave?

9. Amway doesn't sell its' products in stores. You have to be a distributor

and get 6 of your friends to sign up and then have your 6 friends sign up 6 of their friends. They sell household products.

But that's not where the $$$$$$ come from. The only way you make money is if you convince a lot of gullible people to join your pyramid. Even then, I don't think you see BIG money until you are one of the chosen ones who make the motivational tapes and speak at the conferences/pep rallies. It's a giant shell game.

12. I've been telling everyone I run into about DeVos connection to Amway

and his lobbying to offshore jobs to China. Ran into a supporter this weekend that had a DeVos sticker on the back of his shirt . I asked it he was going to actually vote for the man of that. I guess the old ball and chain thought I was after her husband, she hurried over to defend her property and hurried him out of the bar. I know it was mean, but as they left I hollared out...that if DeVos is elected, I hope you lose your job.
