There was a letter to the editor in this morning's Newsday that was just soooo on-talking point Fox-eriffic that I'm left wondering if it isn't a parody. And feeling pretty sad that it likely isn't:
Some Americans just don't get it. They cry about Iraq and want to cut and run. We did win the war in Iraq, removed Saddam Hussein from office and helped set up a democratic government voted on by the people of Iraq. The insurgents (troublemakers/terrorists) are from Iran and Syria. The civil war over there will be resolved in time - and, if we weren't fighting daily over there, it would be here on our own soil.
We are fighting for our survival against Islamic terrorists who want all infidels removed from this Earth. They are seeking appeasement and weakness from America and the complainers are giving them just that. Evil Islamic terrorists mean business, and there is no possibility of appeasing genocidal maniacs bent on world domination. We need strong leaders with concrete plans of fighting terrorists, not weak people trying to make friends through appeasement.
