THE "NUMBER" JUMPED TO 2653 THIS MORNING. Horrible Week in Iraq

I just read in our paper that 334 Iraqis died in Baghdad from Aug. 27 to Sept. 2.

"Most of the victims had been kidnapped, tortured, hogtied and shot."

"During the week, at least 394 other people were killed around Iraq in other types of violence, inclduing bobings, mortar attack and gunfights, Iraqi authories said."

Ironically, this happened after the US and Iraqi govt. proclaimed that there had been a significant decrease in violence after the crackdown.

This is simply not acceptable. 728 Iraqis died in one week.
