33 tortured bodies found in Iraq
http://www.kentucky.com/mld/heraldleader/news/world/15440641.htm

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Police found the tortured, blindfolded bodies of 33 men scattered across the capital yesterday and the U.S.-led coalition reported combat deaths of seven servicemen, a day after Iraqi leaders said the capture of a top terror suspect would reduce violence.

Kidnappers also dragged off a popular soccer star in Baghdad, while a security crackdown in the city expanded into the upscale Mansour neighborhood.

An al-Qaida-affiliated group dismissed the Iraqi government's claim that the organization's second-most-important leader had been arrested, suggesting the man was not a senior figure and saying the terror group had not suffered a significant blow.

On Sunday, Iraq's national security adviser announced the arrest of Hamed Jumaa Farid al-Saeedi, also known as Abu Humam or Abu Rana, and said that had left al-Qaida in Iraq suffering a "serious leadership crisis."

1. Who did the torturing -us or them?
It doesn't really matter it's sick either way but we have no moral high ground when it comes to torture.

3. if they did it, its sick and wrong
and if we did it, well, uh, its just hazing, fraternity pranks, and there is no real proof that it was us or that there was even torture.

That's the official spin, right?

5. The invading country is responsible for everything...
...that occurs in the country in which it occupies.

We can't take credit for the painted schoolhouses and not for the death squads that seem to move about through our check points and curfews we are imposing with no problem.

4. Just more "birth pangs of a new Middle East".
One that will consist of oil wells and graveyards.

9. Oil wells and graveyards
sounds like the first line of a grizzly poem or song. This occupation is the poorest excuse for liberation and democracy I have ever seen. Queen George is an ass-puppet and President Cheney is a Fascist DICKtator.
