That the GOP Blocked CLINTON FROM STOPPING 9/11. That's right... if the GOP had not BLOCKED CLINTON 1996, 9/11 WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.

Today's GOP Lawmakers are DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE. Here's all the proof you need to shove in any NAYSAYER'S FACE: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x2045192

Let them try to play the TERRA CARD NOW. Call all your Democratic reps and politicians and ARM THEM WITH THIS INFO.

KEEP REPEATING THIS UNTIL THE ELECTION IS OVER and not a single repub will keep his seat.

5. 9/11 would not have happened, almost assuredly, under a Gore
presidency. And we had a Gore presidency, until it was stolen. Then we had a 9/11.

It's that simple.

7. More importantly
TELL DEMOCRATS TO DO THE SAME.

It's great that WE realize these things, but when will we see a television ad using this?

9. Not on Fox news at all of course.
A brainwashed friend of mine told me the other day that Clinton was responsible for 9/11 so they already have this story silenced.

11. More info on the bill
"The Republicans also dropped the additional wire-tap authority the Clinton administration wanted. U.S. Attorney general Janet Reno had asked for "multi-point" tapping of suspected terrorists, who may be using advanced technology to outpace authorities.

Rep. Charles Schumer, D-New York, said technology is giving criminals an advantage.

"What the terrorists do is they take one cellular phone, use the number for a few days, throw it out and use a different phone with a different number," he said. "All we are saying is tap the person, not the phone number." (282K AIFF sound or 282K WAV sound)

Still, Schumer said the bill is "better than nothing" and should get some Democratic votes.

President Clinton asked Congress to give him the anti- terrorism bill by the first anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19. And he'll get it. While it might not be all the president wants, administration officials indicate it's a bill he can sign."

19. John Ashcroft, who was busy covering up unclothed statuary in DC,
told the FBI that he didn't want any more meetings on terrorism.

He also denied their request for $58 million for counter-terrorism.
He also quit flying on commercial jets in July 2001.

More from Richard Clarke:
http://www.slate.com/id/2097685

The Principals meeting, which Clarke urgently requested during Bush's first week in office, did not take place until one week before 9/11. In his 60 Minutes interview, Clarke spelled out the significance of this delay. He contrasted July 2001 with December 1999, when the Clinton White House got word of an impending al-Qaida attack on Los Angeles International Airport and Principals meetings were called instantly and repeatedly:

In December '99, every day or every other day, the head of the FBI, the head of the CIA, the Attorney General had to go to the White House and sit in a meeting and report on all the things that they personally had done to stop the al Qaeda attack, so they were going back every night to their departments and shaking the trees personally and finding out all the information. If that had happened in July of 2001, we might have found out in the White House, the Attorney General might have found out that there were al Qaeda operatives in the United States. FBI, at lower levels, knew never told me, never told the highest levels in the FBI. ... We could have caught those guys and then we might have been able to pull that thread and get more of the conspiracy. I'm not saying we could have stopped 9/11, but we could have at least had a chance.

That's what Clarke says is the tragedy of Bush's inaction, and nobody in the White House has dealt with the charge at all.
