Poll question: Boycott Disney (ABC's Owner) For "The Path to 9/11"?
Edited on Tue Sep-05-06 11:58 AM by MannyGoldstein
If ABC's documentary "The Path to 9/11" turns out to be a dramatization of untruthful Rethuglican talking points, would you participate in a boycott of Disney, ABC's parent? (ABC has said that there will be no advertising during "The Path to 9/11", and ABC will distribute it for free via the Web, so there are no advertisers to boycott.)

1. I've been boycotting Disney for years

Check out http://www.willfulinfringement.com/ for my reasons.

This "Mocu/drama" merely enforces my determination to stay away from Disney.

2. I say, put Disney on notice NOW, not later.
Christmas is coming. I buy for 7 kids. If ABC continues to behave as an arm of the Bush press office, no $ to Disney come December.

living in socal we frequently shop for the children in our lives at Disney--they really seem to enjoy getting items that aren't readily accessible to them being so far away from the park. But they won't get a dime from this household if they continue on this path...

This IS the same company, is it not?

Disney Says No to "Fahrenheit 9/11"
Posted on May 5, 2004 11:29 PM under: World News & Politics

The Walt Disney Company has blocked distribution of Michael Moore's new film "Fahrenheit 9/11" simply because it is critical of the U.S. President George W. Bush.

The film -- which links Bush with powerful Saudi families, including that of Osama bin Laden -- is set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival in France later this month.

The reason?
According to today's edition of The New York Times, it might 'endanger' millions of dollars of tax breaks Disney receives from the state of Florida because the film will 'anger' the governor of Florida, Jeb Bush.

If it's not ok to criticize who's actually in office, why is it ok to criticize those prior? Would that mean that they want to side with the rw?

If this is the case, I think I'd rather keep my money.

5. I must say that their theme parks are the most overrated.
On the other hand, I was always (and still am) smart enough to realize just how stupid and silly they are.
