Judges approve Calderon as Mexico's president-elect


MEXICO CITY, Sept 5 (Reuters) - A majority of judges at Mexico's top electoral court approved a ruling on Tuesday that declares conservative Felipe Calderon president-elect after a long legal fight over fraud claims during the July 2 election.

Four of the court's seven judges backed the ruling. Three others are yet to vote before a formal declaration is made later on Tuesday, but victory was assured for Calderon.

I did... and this is not like Bush v Gore, at all

Never did we hear in the US Pres calls for election nullification.

These calls were spread from the far left to the far right eidtorial pages in Mexico City and across the nation.

Never did we see Bush miss a deadline for legal filings, Obrador did, repeteadly

Oh and the Mexican courts did not, I repeat, DID NOT write new law to come up with their decision.

And the above are just some examples, This is once again trying to see all from our perspective and not being fair to the story. Why? The american left is so depsperate for heroes it will hand its hat anywhere it seems friendly.

No longer is evidence considered fairly and accurately. It is ignored in favor of partisan politics. It will happen again in the US. So much for Democracy.

When an election is this close and there are other candidates, there should be a runoff election to determine the winner, and their Constitution should be amended to provide for one. Our own Constitution should also have this provision.
