It is time for us to apologize to Iraq
It is time for us to apologize to Iraq and it's citizens. Regardless of how we ended up doing what we have done, it is time for us to say we were wrong to invade and are sorry for the suffering we have caused.

Is it possible to draft an apology that any American could sign and deliver to Iraq and it's citizens?

I see hundreds of thousands of us in front of grocery stores and shopping malls collecting signatures, each of which will be given to the Iraqi people.

What do you think?

1. How about we hand deliver the Bush Cabal to them.

2. That time was tens of thousands of Iraqi deaths ago.
As in the minute bush launched his illegal, immoral, "supreme crime" war of choice aggression against a nation that hadn't been doing one damned thing to anyone.

3. I agree wholeheartedly,
but it seems as if the tide is turning and a national effort could have huge ramifications in our common future.

4. You need to edit your post to add a "past" before "time".

5. It's typically American in its silliness
Not sure if you're serious, but if my daughter had been dismembered by an American clusterbomb or my brother fried in white phosphorus, a nice little note is an insult. How about reparations? How about getting the f* out of my country?

6. I think the OP is serious and feeling more than a little
shame and guilt at what this administration has done to the people of Iraq. I would also venture to assume the OP feels a strong sense of responsibility for what has happened and feels a need to apologize. If writing it down and signing it is the only way this person can feel that he/she is doing something to help ease the guilt and shame he/she feels, I hardly think it qualifies as an insult.

7. Yes.
I am serious. It could be the first step towards healing. Reparations, leaving, humility, etc. could be a by-product could they not?
