The Wild Animal Sanctuary has to close. It’s not what any of us want, but given the financial shortfalls associated with 2005 it is the only choice we have. Everyone here at the sanctuary has worked their fingers to the bone trying to raise the funds needed to operate the facility, but it just isn’t possible.



Everyone knows how difficult it is to raise money for a non-profit, but the financial devastation that occurred last year took such a toll on the sanctuary that it was impossible to recover. Even though many people helped the sanctuary by donating last December, it wasn’t enough to truly save the organization, and our new fundraising program that dealt with major gifts wasn’t able to be completed in time to help.



We have worked diligently for the last seven months trying to find a solution to our funding, but everything we did came up short. Now, the time has come to do what is best for the animals! We need to focus our attention - with what little time we have - on finding new homes.



It’s going to be a monumental task to try to place over 150 large carnivores - as there are so few places for them to go - but we will try our very best to get each and everyone placed. However, we need your help to accomplish this task! MORE
