Bliar up a creek -begone Bliar.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/5319328.stm

<snip>
Tony Blair has faced a wave of resignations by junior members of his government over his refusal to name a date for resignation as Labour leader.

He branded ex-junior minister Tom Watson, the most senior person to quit, "disloyal, discourteous and wrong" for signing a letter urging him to go.

The resignations came as Mr Blair faces growing pressure to name a departure date before the end of the year.

Gordon Brown backers say claims the PM will go by May are "not good enough".
---------
Tony is going the same way as Maggie - he will be forced out shortly.

6. Nothing will happen until senior Cabinet members take action
It might be soon, or it might not be. Blair has survived this sort of thing before, powered by his ego and his love of the "free market." I've been disappointed by many of these false dawns, I wish senior Labour figures would develop the backbone which has been lacking these past five years.

7. I have a feeling it will be later,
rather than sooner. He has long since used up the goodwill with which he arrived, all that remains is the desire to hand on. And on...

Exit timetable today
<snip>
Blair loyalist Ruth Kelly called for peace in the Labour Party as she confirmed the Prime Minister would outline the timing of his departure from Downing Street later today

Ms Kelly said Mr Blair's planned announcement was in line with "perceived wisdom", and added that it "should be absolutely sufficient" to allow the party to move forward.

Mr Blair has been forced to cave in to demands from rebel Labour MPs that he set a timetable for his departure after yesterday's dramatic events which saw eight junior members of his Government quit their posts.
---------------
Ms Kelly will learn like Thatcher's inner circle.

11. Ruth Kelly is useless
She was one of our worst Education Secretaries ever- we even had some Tory ones who were much better than she was. She is now in charge of "Communities", aka bullying and antagonizing British Moslems. Unusually for British politicians, she is something of a religious fanatic (Catholic, in her case). And she adores her great leader Tony. The Poodle's Poodle, I suppose.

Back to the main point: I'm delighted that he's finally getting the heave-ho, and I just hope that we end up with something much better. I remember how I rejoiced when we kicked the Tories out in 1997, and how crushing the disappointment was in the end - and I can't quite bring myself to hope for too much until I know more about what's going to happen.
