I guess the trick was to shock the hell out of us, then feed us shit a little at a time, just a wee bit and you don't much notice it, and after a few years of steadily eating shit, you develop a taste for it and it almost tastes like ice cream or a baby ruth bar.

Eat shit if you don't like torturing P.O.W.'s, eat shit if you don't like the war. Eat shit in the form of the patriot act, and eat shit in the form of wiretapping. Eat shit at Gitmo, eat shit at Abu Ghraib. Eat shit with the rigged voting machines, eat shit from the supreme court.

Eat shit with phony terror alerts and foiled terror plots. Eat shit and accept democracy in Iraq, eat shit for not supporting the president's war. Eat shit from your television, your radio, your internet and your newspapers. Eat shit and be terrified, eat shit and be oppressed and happy with it.

I'm really starting to worry about why the white house is still infested with cockroaches and war pigs, and why most folks seem cool with it.

I'm tired of eating shit, and I know I'm not alone.

I think a lot of us feel helpless. Everyone I know in my little area of PA is voting for Casey (or I should say, AGAINST Santorum). What else can we do? I've written letters, I've made contributions, I vote every time, I've attended rallies, I talk to everyone I can and post endless rants in my LiveJournal, and yet the shit keeps coming. Everyone I know is at that point too. What else is there to do that won't bring Agent Mike to our doorsteps?

Yes, there are still a lot of sheeple out there. I don't know how to reach them. If they're ignorant at this point, they're probably deliberately staying ignorant. And even if they weren't ignorant, what would they do? Write more letters, send more money?
