National Guard Katrina helpers suffer classroom penalties
To Recieve a lower grade for fulfilling a military obligation is just wrong

Colorado Springs Colo, A year ago ,Jessica Cramer was pulled away from class at the University of Colorado Springs to assist victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita

When she returned from New Orleans more then two weeks later,a couple of instructors took an unsympathetic view of her departure and lowered her grades.Other deployed students were not allowed to make up scince labs, given failing grades and forced to drop classes.

In extreme cases, the bad grades or uncompleted classes meant repayment of financail aid and the loss of GI Bill assistance.

1. And to think, if half of La.'s own Nat'l Guard hadn't been in IRAQ,
she would not have had to be called up all the way from Colo. in the first place! :grr: :banghead:

2. o, how disturbing...
the message seems to be that humanitarian aid and service to your country men and women (only service there should be in enlisting the military, that's all that is allowed - words are changing, meanings are changing), (in the true sense that human beings feel it is, not humanitarianly aiding as done by the US, sending military equipment to other countries) is a hippie liberal no no trait.

peace and caring for others has become something punishable.
