"I just love that story." It's NOT ABOUT YOU KATIE!!!
My head just exploded.

I wasn't even listening to the story on CBS News, but Katie stated it just at the end of the broadcast...

IT'S NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU LIKE KATIE JUST READ THE GODDAMNED TELEPROMPTER AND TELL ME WTF HAPPENED IN THE WORLD TODAY.

1. Nonsense. It's about what SHE thinks, what SHE loves, what SHE feels.

That's "news" these days, didn't you know? Fuck the facts! Fuck reporting! It's about the talking heads!

Our "Dear Leader" is a pathological narcissist! Narcissism and navel-gazing are IN!!

2. My daughter asked to turn on this story. It was a great story.
It's good to learn about some real special people in our midst but I think that is more suitable for 60 Minutes or Primetime or something like that.

But it tells me that the CBS evening news with Katie Couric will be trying to out Olberman Keith. It's going to be more entertainment. We will have to listen to the BBC to get much real news.

8. I'm sure it was a wonderful story. I just don't need...
Katie telling me how much she lurved it. That's not news. That's commentary.

So it should be called The CBS Evening Commentary.

3. I noticed in recent news she's referred to as the "host" and not "anchor"
...of CBS Evening News, or at least I suppose it's still called "Evening News." Maybe it's title "Good Evening, America" with host Katie Couric.

I don't know...

I don't think she will last 6 months.

5. Wouldn't it just be easier
to not watch the CBS Evening News? I haven't for years, so I don't really know who is the host or what they have said. Don't watch NBC or ABC either. You can keep up with what's going on far to easily without network news.

11. No thanks. I can't afford to "lighten up".
The world is a pretty crappy place right now. "Lighten up" doesn't cut it anymore.

12. Copy the Bill of Rights and snail mail it to Katie Couric...
And don't forget to circle the word "Rights" with a huge black marker, with the paranthetical "NOT privileges" in highlighter next to it.

Can you imagine what things would be like if she had thousands of mails like this swamp her office?

14. Well, when she said "This story will knock your socks off" she lost
any chance that I would consider her show News...Nooze is the perfect word for it as noted by another poster in this thread..I watched just this once out of curiosity..won't bother again.
