Some folks just aren’t cat people. Take Representative Richard Pombo, for instance.
This year, Pombo voted not once, but twice, to allow harmful timber operations within crucial habitat for the elusive and highly endangered lynx.
Help protect lynx and other imperiled creatures by defeating Rep. Richard Pombo (R-CA) at the polls and stopping his harmful legislative agenda on Capitol Hill.
The lynx is a fascinating critter. About the size of a large house-cat, these cats prey on the snowshoe hare, but have been known to bring down animals as big as caribou.
To survive, lynx need forests with young trees and old-growth timber -- exactly the kind of areas threatened by Congressman Richard Pombo’s legislative agenda.
This year alone, Pombo has twice voted to hand over our forests to Big Timber contributors and give them free-reign to harm, kill and harass lynx and other imperiled creatures. Earlier, he hatched a scheme to sell off 15 of our National Parks -- including at least four that the lynx call home -- to developers, the timber industry and major contributors to his campaign.
Even worse, as Chairman of the House Resources Committee, Pombo continues his push to gut the Endangered Species Act -- the landmark law that provides essential protections to lynx, wolves and other endangered wildlife.
Because lynx can’t speak up for themselves, we need your help. Please donate now to help us stop Representative Richard Pombo and protect our lynx and other imperiled wildlife from his self-serving agenda.
The lynx was once abundant in the U.S., but now fewer than 2,000 are estimated to be left. And the future of these furry felines could be in doubt if Rep. Richard Pombo gets his way.
Congressman Pombo is locked in one of the toughest political fights of his life. And Defenders Action Fund is pulling out all of the stops to defeat him and end his all-out assault on America’s wildlife.
We’re on the ground in Pombo’s district, exposing his record to his constituents. And as Pombo heads back to Washington, DC, Defenders Action Fund will be there, too, fighting against Pombo’s anti-conservation agenda and for our lynx and other wildlife.
There are just 62 days until the election. Together, we can make them count.
Defenders Action Fund is trying to stop Pombo’s anti-wildlife legislative agenda and get the message out to voters on Rep. Pombo’s dismal record. Your contribution will enable us to mobilize activists and lobby for our lynx and other critters threatened by Pombo’s legislative schemes.
I hope we can count on your support. With your help, we can ensure a better future for lynx and other imperiled wildlife. Sincerely,
Rodger Schlickeisen President Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund
