Senate Dem's Rumsfeld "no confidence" amendment denied vote.

No surprise, but I wanted to watch the statements up to Alaska (R) Sen. Steven's coda: "not germaine". The President of the Senate (don't know who he is today) obviously agreed, no vote. Lots of good stuff in the course of the procedure, though, that few will hear, but it was worth the hours they spent on it, imo. Thank you Dems.

I'm also glad the Dems brought this to the table; it/Rummy's failures needed to be addressed.

7. Procedural maneuver. Sen. Stevens rose to say the amendment

was not "germain" to the defense spending bill. All it takes for the amendment to be taken off the floor is the assent of the presiding President of the Senate. Took about a minute all told.

8. They did a good job today, given the tools they have at their disposal as

the minority in the Senate. I was impressed how vocal and to the point most were, knowing from the outset that the amendment would never see a vote. And, it made the news...:think:
