Did you hear Buchanon
on Hardball. We must stay in Iraq until it is lost at all costs?!?!? I think that is what he said. Sitting in my hotel room and wasn't paying too much attention. Anyone have a transcript?

2. I don't have a transcript, but I sure remember what he said!
"We must stay until it's lost beyond all repair!"

I can't follow Pat's logic at all. One time he's slamming this admin totally, and then he comes up with a comment like this one.

4. "Can't Follow Pat's Logic" Why should that surprise you?
Mr. Buchanan is, after all, BATSHIT CRAZY.

5. The scary thing is that Harold Ford apparently agrees.
Harold Ford is Tennesee's version of Joe Lieberman.

10. Then Ford is out of touch with reality on the ground then.
Honestly, do we want more people who are out of touch with reality holding the reins of power?

16. i think he feels that he is in touch with
the reality that his constituents think that they occupy. so long as the bubble does not burst, they are content, and, he can bring his children to ride on the gravy train with him.

13. God, please don't remind me! And all that I can keep telling myself is
Edited on Wed Sep-06-06 07:40 PM by tnlefty
that I need to vote to change the balance of power in D.C. I'm not so sure that he will do that.

edit: Do you remember anything close to what Ford said while on Hardball? If, so, I would appreciate a synopsis.

9. "We must stay until it's lost beyond all repair!"
Yep. That's exactly what he said. I wonder how many dead that translates to.

Personally, I think we have already passed the "Buchanon limit." It's already "beyond all repair."

11. The key question is does Buchanan agree with where you put the guidepost?
If he thinks the guidepost is at 15,000 US coffins and 1,000,000 dead Iraqis, we still have a long way to go.

15. Yeah, he doesn't want numbers.
You could have said when half (or all) of our troops are dead. "Let's not set any arbitrary limits."

We've already passed the number that were killed on 911. In the psycho-historic sense, that seems like an appropriate "sacrafice."

Note that a tenet of psycho-history is that countries go to war to get their own soldiers killed. That's why Clinton's foray into Kosovo gets so little notice. He didn't get any of our troops killed, so it's not a "serious" war.

3. That is exactly what Buchanan said: "until it is lost ...."
Edited on Wed Sep-06-06 07:04 PM by WinkyDink
Just have more and more human beings die until we somehow are surfeited and come to our senses.

8. It's a very simple tautology for the obsessively possessive control freak
Edited on Wed Sep-06-06 07:29 PM by TahitiNut
"leaving = losing" and "staying = winning"

There is no 'process.' There is no 'path.' There is no 'strategy.'

There is ONLY the tautology.

As long as we STAY, we have "won."

This appeals to the fecal-brained, drooling imbeciles who grunt, scratch, and vote. ("Pull my finger.")

:puke:

"Ain't nobody gonna run me off MY land!!"

Nothing could make it clearer that conquest and occupation have been the ONLY goals.
