Could ABC's BS Docu drama backfire?
Clinton was one of the most popular presidents of my time. Even more so than Reagan. Even hard core conservatives that I know, who hated Clinton when he was president, now say that Clinton was a great president. If this is a GOP strategy to hurt Democrats for the November election, I think it will fail miserably. Their time and money would be better spent going after a weaker target not the Big Dawg!

1. From what I can tell, that pile of crap has already begun to smell.
Even Brent Bozell could only offer up some kind of nonesensical blather in defense of it.

Dead on Arrival.

2. I can't remember the last time
something like this has happened over a TV show.....it very well may hurt them. Most Americans are just sick and tired of living in fear - that as well as being treated as being dumber than dirt - the public at large is smarter than that, unfortunately, the "elections" in 2000 and 2004 do not really reflect that.

tie it into the school system thru respected shcolastic, no commercials where is the money coming from, flat out lie, saying clintn preoccupied when it will serve as a reminder republicans taking clinton from his work over a blow job which pissed people off, and maybe allow some of the flasehoods that have premeated from 9/11 report that clinton let bin laden get away will be rectified.

yes. i think this could very well backfire

4. Chances are it is going to be so stupid
that parody will set in even before the thing stops airing. It's going to be Repug tin-hat shit and the production will be absurd in many ways. SNL the following week should definitely send it up. Make it into a running joke about how right wing propagandists control the media. This could be THE pop-culture blitz of the century if we spin it right.

5. If we get the word out this is GOP Propaganda
I bet the majority of the public will believe that before they'll think negatively of President Clinton.

8. In Spain, an ACTUAL terrorist attack backfired and ousted a Bush ally
Let's hope a shitty docudrama and pulling bin Laden's corpse out of the freezer is the worst they have in store for us.

9. Well..
According to this article, Richard Clarke will be on to dispute the thing after it's over on a segment called "Where things Stand"

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2006/09/06/entertainment/e130829D33.DTL

(I think the article got the director's name wrong btw.. they say it's Dennis, but I think it's David)

11. I think so. I think it's happening.
It's NOT going to change anyone's mind in any event. Like FOX NEWS & 'snarling head' talk radio it will only validate existing opinion.

12. It kind of reminds me of that SNL
skit during the Lewinsky BS. Where Daryl Hammond in his best Clinton impersonation, stands at the podium and says to his enemies, "Next time you best bring kryptonite."

14. The conservatives who say Clinton was a great president are
only referring to the fact that he lost Congress in his 1st 2 years. I have heard one admit that if he knew Clinton would end 40 years of Democrat control in the House of Representatives, he would have voted for him. And they are fuckin thrilled with his welfare reform and don't ask/don't tell. Bob Dole couldn't have done better for them. And don't forget how he "helped" Gore's campaign so much. But hey, HRC got elected, so it turned out OK for them, didn't it?

18. No this was my father in-law who is a card caring RNC member
who hasn't voted democrat since JFK. He said that Clinton was a great president and wishes that he was president now. I was shocked when he said it. I have heard many other conservatives say similar things.

15. as a non watcher of ABC i think the ratings will be shit for this "show"
because basically ABC blows, aside from 2 popular shows they have nothing to offer. I'm boycotting because i wouldn't be watching ABC anyhow.

16. I think it will...
.. and we can help it along.

Beleive me, folks are catching on to the bias of the MSM. Look at Fox's ratings, dropping like a rock since 2004.

People are getting tired of the bullshit. By the time the internet gets done rebutting the bullshit in this "docu-drama", another of the last few ounces of credibility the MSM carries will be drained away.

They're already very much on the defensive, and they're VERY aware we know what they've done and what they're trying to do.

Take that hulk to the crusher. The engine's blown.

19. that's what I'm thinking. It could result in discussions about the
events of 9/11. Now, we have a lot more people who don't believe the official story. http://physics911.net

Now, maybe this will get Big Dawg out and slamming those who slam him. I'm no longer a Clinton fan, but I hate to see him slammed like that. Especially when there was government complicity in 9/11.

20. All the right wing lies are being put under the microscope.
For this reason it's backfiring for those on the Right. It's easy for Rush and Hannity to repeat these kinds of lies over and over and over and their followers drink it up. Now, these idiots are seeing these lies discussed on mainstream news programs and they are seeing the were always lies.
