I think what I have to say needs to be said. Why? Because I am tired of people slamming someone who has recently passed, and not even in the ground, cold yet. There is a time for the negativity, but right now, while a family and fans still mourn the loss of this human being, just proves to me, how cold and callous lefties can become.
Let me say, I did like, Steve. I enjoyed his many productions, and am now regretting I never got to Australia Zoo, while he was still with us. Nevertheless, I am not his biggest fan. I was deeply outraged with the baby Bob incident. I was hurt that he accepted an invitation to attend the barbie John Howard had for Bush* while he was here. But those negatives I feel for Steve, do not give me the right to slam him. What it does do is make me take a seat back and just think about all the good this man has done for conservation the world over.
I am a regular watcher of Animal Planet. I love seeing wildlife up close, because I realize one day, these animals may not be found in the wild any longer. And right now, I don't have the funds to go see them in person. Just recently I was watching an episode of Miami Animal Police. An air force base in Florida had called Pesky Critters to come and remove some gators that were finding their way onto the runway. The guy who runs the company (can't think of his name) attended and set baits to trap the gators. Two or three days later he returned to find the gator had drowned. Where is your outcry over that?
Recently a new Jeff Corwin show has been airing here called King of the Jungle. The show takes animal experts (vets, etc) from across the U.S. and puts them in close quarters with animals to see who will end up winning their own tv show on Animal Planet. A recent episode showed these armatures trying to get baby tigers across a lake on a flimsy raft. The tigers were scared. Another episode showed these armatures wrangling an alligator time and time again, in order to see how well they will be able to cope with these animals in the wild.
You have been saying how Steve disturbed the animals. How he got to close to animals. Where is your outcry over Jeff Corwin's new show? Using idiots to wrangle gators? People mounting gators in order to tie its mouth so they can cart it across an area to an awaiting car with a wooden box to place it in. People with no experience whatsoever.
Steve, love him or hate him there is no denying he put his money where his mouth is. Buying up land in order to preserve it for wildlife. Founding Wildlife Warriors. And many other things in the process, all for the protection of animals around the world. So while you sit here and slam a man who dedicated his life to the protection of ALL animals, I am going to sit here and
donate money on behalf of Sapphocrat and myself to keep Steve's legacy alive.
Are you brave enough to put your money where your mouth is? Or would just like to continue bashing a man who can no longer defend himself?
