Scholastic just blinked. They took down their links to their 9-11 Pages. Perhaps ABC calling it a dramatization spooked 'em.

SO CALL YOUR SCHOOL TOMORROW AND TELL THEM NOT TO POLITICIZE 9-11 BY TELLING LIES ABOUT IT!

If enough people call, the schools will cancel the lessons hopefully. Remind them that NSC Chief Berger, Counter-Terror Chief Clarke, Deputy Counter-Terror Chief Cressey and Democratic House members are all outraged at the false scenes that accuse Clinton of malfeasance.

Dear Educator:
On September 11, 2001, the American mainland was attacked for the first time since the
War of 1812. The attack took more lives than Pearl Harbor and changed the direction of
U.S. policy, both foreign and domestic.

As with all defining historical moments, the attack was the culmination of many previous
events, which were only connected after the fact. The 9/11 Commission was created to
investigate and document those events and to extract valuable lessons from the tragedy.
Its report provides the most comprehensive record of how 9/11 happened, adding
valuable historical context to enhance our understanding of what happened and why.
This fall, the ABC Television Network will air a dramatization of these events, starting
with the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993 and ending with the morning of 9/11.
The miniseries, The Path to 9/11, will air with limited commercial interruption on
September 10 and 11. Based in large part on the Commission’s report, the film is a
compelling story that incorporates a great deal of information about what happened and
why.

As the Chair of The 9/11 Commission, I worked closely with the filmmakers and the
network to ensure the miniseries accurately reflects both the facts and the spirit of the
Commission’s findings. In addition to my input, the film reflects the guidance of many
people who were involved in the events depicted—from the CIA, the FBI, the Secret
Service, and the White House.

Because of that commitment to accuracy as well as a sincere respect for the subject, The
Path to 9/11 provides a unique opportunity for educators to bring those lessons into the
classroom, spark discussion, and help students gain understanding about what led to such
a defining moment in our country’s history.

Does anyone know what grades these study guides are geared toward?

I have very young children, so I doubt my kids will be exposed to anything 9/11 related in the schools.

However, I wonder if some of the older kids in our school will be exposed to it.

I would love to know if our school is involved in this at all. I would be very upset.
