This is seriously spooky.

And you can bet your ass that google is tracking us through our ISP.

I do not think that I am liking this at all.

OK, before I finished this, the ads were already in transition.

But there were 4 veterans-related ads up at one time - mortgages, insurance, investment (Hey, all you vets with a ton of ready cash!) opportunities, etc.

Not liking this at all.

Even tho marketing is my game, I do not appreciated having ads thrown at me (I am on the Manufacturer end).

I actually tend to tune out ads all together.

Maybe it was the four military ads across the top of the page that grabbed me.

How do I turn them off, Rabrrrrrr (is that enough 'r's?)?

I would appreciate any input that you may be able to offer.

10. The ads are keyed to key words that appear on the page

and are not generated by anything that you, personally, are interested in - that is, there is no snooping on your computer. It appears to be solely context sensitive to what's on the page.

As to changing it, go into "options" and then "edit your preferences" and at the very bottom is the option to turn off the google ads.

I am very, very thankful that Skinner gave us that option. I so hated seeing the ads, I would have left DU after a while, I think.

I, too, have kicked that shit into corners.

actually, he's a mutt. Momma is a beautiful, smallish Golden. Papa - some bloke who traverses a mountain to court her, so in love he was/still is. Not sure about papa - coulda been a bear, judging from the way my big boy can sleep! Papa is a BIG furry black dog with impeccable manners from what I hear.

Our vet took one look at our pup and said "where'd the black whiskers and eyeliner come from?" Whiskers starting to turn white here and there now.
