I'm not worried about ABC's Path to 911 at all.
They would be better off to pour kerosene all over themselves and light it.

This is actually going to be fun to watch the aftermath of what ABC is setting themselves up for.

Did you ever see the cartoons where the character throws the stick of dynamite and thinks they're going to destroy their nemesis for once and for all. They plug their ears waiting for the joy of the blast. When little do they know the nemesis has placed the dynamite right between their legs and is chewing on a carrot from a perfect place to watch the surprise?

ABC has this stick of dynamite right under their nuts.

Look at the indisputable facts.

1. Like giddy children, they release promos only to the right wing blogheads over their orgasmic little docuganda of bullshit. Nobody from the left.

2. They know the film maker is as right quadrant of a biased Clinton hater as you could possibly dig out of the neocon Nazis.

3. They pull their ABC blog because the whip marks on their collective asses were already starting to burn.

4. They don't have one Democrat consulted from the 911 commission or anyone to balance the true facts involved in the making of this crapumentary.

5. They won't even send a screening copy to the Democrats they are about to slander. However the friend of the filmaker gets a copy. He just happens to be the biggest verbal blowjob in the entire republican fart capsule. Isn't that special.

6. They are about to attempt to diminish the credibility of one of the most popular presidents ever who had only one minor successful terror attack on US soil during his term abd presided over the best economy ever.

7. Disney who found it so reprehensible to air the film festival award winning political documentary for truth, is flapping their wings with enthusiasm about airing this video felony of contraband.

8. The film maker has unbelievable transposed the very most dramatic event of the entire six hour shit fest to make it appear that Bin Laden could have been taken out at Tora Bora during Clinton's watch, when in fact it is absolutely the opposite and was on Bush's plate and

7. The extent of the lies presented as fact in this farce that are going to be exposed is going to have ABC scrambling for their lawyers.

Fox wouldn't even be this stupid. It is astounding ABC going to make this blunder. Once it airs, it is going to have so many media people and bloggers ripping it to shreds that ABC will never recover. The facts are entirely and factually ass backwards. This is their Dan Rather. It is so top loaded with repercussions for ABC, the executives that signed off on this are going to be drinking Pepto Bismol by the quart.

It will start right after they make the irretrievable mistake of putting it on the air because then it's too late. And it will come from every direction.

ABC will be forever known as a blatant partisan bullshit right wing visual media rag and they will be the laughing stock of the networks.

1. They plan to distribute this crap to schools!
We're all adults here and can see this for what it is: Propaganda.

But school children don't have the critical facilities necessary and will end up believing this story. "Why would ABC lie?" "It was on TV!"

this whole school roll out program will be scrapped. When the reviews start coming in and they are getting creamed from every direction about how factually wrong they were about the events as they really happened, there will be nowhere to hide. All of the things I stated in my OP lay out how intentionally partial they are to lie with total disregard for indisputable facts.

They have created an irreversible self destructive monster. Nobody can do anything yet because it hasn't aired. Once it's there for everybody to see, the Democrats and the national media will start to critique it.

Responsible journalists and reporters will HAVE to write their columns and editorials slamming ABC because everything that has leaked shows it presents lie after lie after lie. It will be debunked on the talk shows as a collaborative intent to lie. This won't set well with the American people.

ABC is already been scared into running a disclaimer numerous times when it's on. This is only the beginning.

This will never get into the schools. This is a hazmat spill that just hasn't happenend yet. The cleanup will start Monday.

work guide. we will have to see. the cleanup begins monday. i couldnt agree more. but..... i talked to very smart intellectual 11 yr old and told him to ask teacher if she was going to give it to class. and i will be giving corrected material if she is and son will present. he is not shy. i explained the different angle of why this is so wrong, and clear to him. he was in a christian private when they aired passion and i told teacher no way they were going to cult my child. basically the same thing here.

Someone points out how useful they are in situations like this. While you can use a public figure in a production like, this, I don't think you're allowed to libel them with impunity. Bring 'em on!

5. You assume that the people watching will be aware of the
indisputable facts you cited. They won't be, and that's one of the problems. This crapadrama won't impact informed people like us, but I don't believe the majority of the people who will tune in will be nearly as informed as we are. My fear is that the uninformed watchers will believe the shit ABC is spewin'.

6. You are so wrong. This will change the minds of millions of voters
and do you think disney/abc is going to be hurt by a few complaints and emails? That doesn't cost MONEY. They make any complaints from the left up financially with increased patronage from the right. Think about the REAL FINANCIAL IMPACT: the important point for abc/disney is to protect their tax breaks and the favorable media laws written by bushco. This biased movie will reach potentially millions of voters by the time it's all said and done and distributed for free everywhere and in schools, and the sad fact is that 80% of the people who see this movie will think it is factually true, and bin laden is all Clinton's fault, and the republicans are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

This is the kind of sweeping propoganda that Hitler used to convince the average germans to go along with his evil plan.

Why on earth would you be so naive to think it wouldn't work??

27. This thing has not been getting good reviews
and remember a lot of the male viewers will be watching Sunday Night Football on NBC and Monday Night Football on ESPN. And the 2 9-11 features that came out this year United 93 and World Trade Center did not do that great of a box office. I think the public is tired of 9-11.

My big problem is with this being distributed to schools. Hopefully we got some savvy teachers and some savvy students who will illustrate the untruths in it.

10. I've been wondering about the impact of this if the Democratic
Party takes back the house.

I understood ABC/Disney and the controversy of "Fahrenheit 911," given the "family, feel good image." But this is blatant partisanship, and now their decision about "Fahrenheit 911" can be seen as blatant partisanship.

I know that the FCC is useless, but does "The Path to 9/11" constitute a massive corporate transfer of funds to the RNC? Will this factless piece of fiction, shown so close to the election without commercial interruption become the centerpiece in a congressional investigation into the dangers of media consolidation?

14. Madeline Albright's letter to Iger today sounded fantastic
I'm pretty sure she would sue them if the film airs in its current form. And somehow I do not think calling it a "docudrama" will protect them from libel suits.

"One of the officials, former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, said in her letter to the Disney executive, Robert A. Iger, that although she had requested a copy of the film, ABC had not given her one. But, Ms. Albright said, she has been told by people who have seen it that it “depicts scenes that never happened, events that never took place, decisions that were never made and conversations that never occurred.”

“It asserts as fact things that are not fact,” she wrote.

The concerns of Ms. Albright, as well as those expressed in letters from Samuel R. Berger, former national security adviser, and Bruce R. Lindsey, a Clinton White House aide now with the Clinton Foundation, were echoed yesterday by several Democratic members of Congress."

Great line

We'll see. TV can be very persuasive but what will probably really kill the impact of this (I can't believe this is going to be distributed to schools) is that it will be opposite the NFL on NBC (debut), the CBS real life documentaries, and the Simpsons. If it as bad as it looks -the clip on Olbermann last night looked pretty bad- people will flip away fairly quickly.

18. ABC - Appeasing Bush's Cronies
Amateur hour partisanshit at it's worst. Six years later and they STILL cannot get over the fact that everyone was happier, more prosperous and safer under Clinton than they were under ANY Repuke president. It makes them fret and fume and their skin turn purple.

I'm reminded of the scene in V for Vendetta when one of the bar patrons watching an obviously propagandized newscast of V's actions exclaims "do you believe this bullshit?". Dizzney, no one's believing it anymore. Give it up. Jump the sinking GOP ship. Your fearmongering and Clinton-blaming isn't working anymore. Here's a clue. When the POOR and MIDDLE CLASSES do well, the RICH do even better. Stop trying to keep the two-class dream alive.

My crazy mother is one of them. I know what they're like. If she wasn't so damn unhealthy and, I feel, not going to live too much longer I don't know what I'd do. As it is I try to ignore her shit. But when she tells me that no one else would have been able to 'handle' the terrorists (and she believes that Iraq was full of the pre-911) as well as this lying SOB has I just want to scream. I do get mad at her.

She's on Social Security (never had a 'good' paying job so she hardly gets anything), lives in a subsidized old croaks highrise that takes almost all of her money, used to get what she called commodities (cheese, butter, etc.) which she relied (on but that program is gone), now can't get some of the meds she needs because Medicare won't help pay for them, etc.

And that delerious woman defends the guy. Go figure.

31. It wouldn't matter to the 30% of those people
if they saw a picture of bush kissing Hitler. They are in a hopeless republican hypnotic state.

It's the other 70% of the sane and recovering republicans that are going to be pissed when they start hearing the critiques and the deliberate attempts to manipulate their thinking that is going to crucify ABC.

It's almost weird to what extent they've gone to deliberately distort and outright lie about Clinton's bin Laden efforts, while praising bush. The fact that they have actually elected to give even more publicity to themselves by donating these six hours of airtime without commercial sponsorship is going to put them right in the middle of the bullseye.

Do you not think this is a level five hurricane for them? They have the top figures in the government that they are about to slander and libel advising them they are about to make a huge mistake. They have got the Congress telling them to cancel it or revise the script to be factually accurate.

When this stuff starts coming out, ABC isn't going to have the credibility of Capitol Hill Blue. To say nothing about the monetary hits of product boycotts and programming they are about to see hit them.

A gyroscope will always right itself.

This is a pistol they are holding to their own head.

32. My main concern is--who will this impact?
I'm interested in who this mini-series will effect. Will it convince people that Bush is wonderful and that Clinton is responsible for 9/11? Ultimately, will this farce affect the 06 elections?

We know that 35 percent of the country supports Bush. They'd support him if he wanted to invade Missouri. So, those people are a foregone conclusion--and we don't need to worry about them.

The Dems won't be persuaded by "Path to 9/11". Obviously, most of us understand it is a sham.

It's the Independents--and those in the middle--who are critical. How will they react to this?

The only reason I am not upset and worried about the effect of "Path to 9/11" is because I believe that most Independents and people in the center have above-average intelligence and are less prone to buying into the partisan crap. They're disgruntled with both parties and they know bullshit when they see it. There's enough controversy and problems surrounding "Path to 9/11" that they will NOT be persuaded by it. Most Independents are acutely aware of the Rovian ploys, and they are leaning Democrat these days--not Republican. This propaganda will only fuel their mistrust of BushCo.

Most of the dullards who will be emotionally whipped up into a frenzy about "Path to 9/11" are the lemmings who listen to Rush Limbaugh and will vote for Junior anyway.

I do have other worries attached to this mini-series. I'm wondering why in the hell ABC is helping the Republicans and hurting the Dems in such a blatant, perverse way--right before the elections? I'm wondering who the players are in this game and who funded this. I'm wondering why these bastards think they have the right to propagandize our own children?

I'm worried about those things---but I am not worried about it changing minds. It simply won't.

34. Right.
And because of the firestorm of publicity this has created, it is going to be seen as the duty of responsible journalists to correct the record.

This is defamation of character, playing with the sensibilities of people who were mentally greatly affected by 9-11. And not only on the anniversary, but just prior to a historically important election.

The talk shows and newspapers are going to crucify ABC.

How do they explain all the things in my OP when those things are made public? How do they explain that the film purports that Clinton refused to kill bin Laden in Tora Bora when bin Laden was never in Tora Bora when Clinton was president?

How do they explain the refusal to show bush with his eyes glazed over for seven minutes while the Secret Service looked on just stunned?

How do they explain Disney wouldn't air Farenheit 9-11 but supports this six hour fraud? When they were given wide advance notice of the innacuracies?

They can't. And that's why this is going to be ABC's Hindenberg. Watch the explosion.
