She was assigned a project regarding writing a letter to support or not support a "text communications tax" (that I asked DU for help on this thread -

Well, we did alot of research to make sure she had the right verbage, sourced the right proposed bill, etc. and she finished it and turned it in. The teacher had said he was going to send their letters off to the Sen./Rep. for Delaware. Yesterday morning when she had class, he told them he was joking and even though the letter was a real assignment, the situation wasn't real. My daughter stood up and told him and the class that while not all the info he gave them was correct, it was a real situation. The TelCom bill is very real and that if they don't want the communication lines sold to the highest bidder and want to guarantee freedom of the net, they should support net neutrality. Then she said "I did" AND she sourced DU and savetheinternet.com.
Since her teacher wasn't going to do it, I mailed her letter to Sen. Carper last night. :)
I figure someone maybe complained to the instructor. I'm emailing him today.
