The writer is correct. Scholastic sells a ton of books to schools and they make a HUGE amount of their revenues from their annual Book Fair held at many schools. Threatening to boycott their books and their fair at your children's school would have a great impact on their attitude toward distributing the GOP-u-drama.

We have books coming out of our ears around here and certainly don't need more, but I'm always easily persuaded to go to the book fairs, mainly because they are also fund-raisers for our school. BUT I will be more than happy to write the school a check directly than give Scholastic a cut unless they step up.
