and there was bin laden in the mountians and another scene where people were at some kind of compound going through an "exercise". It appeared to me in light of what LALA said (there were two different tapes) that they may have merged the two together when viewing CNN.

thinks that these tapes, if they were real, would ever be made public... this is evidence and would be examined, not leaked to the public without context. so, for example, nothing happened at the millennium celebration does not mean nothing was supposed to happen, but rather, that if something was planned, it was stopped. so a responsible leadership would want to keep the public calm but also work behind the scenes with local law enforcement. this administration has no problem with tapes being played, without context, that could provide important intel information... in other words, this could be an Al Q tape, but we don't know how old it is, where it came from, what the context is, nothing. all we know is that "someone" gave to Al Jazeera and with that, it runs, and the administration points to it as a fear tool. for me, motive is the question. and no one I have ever spoken with - who in public has to explain things a certain way, has ever said in private, even when asked, that these are a). current, b). contextually accurate, c). or in any way beneficial to the AQ network, who does not need to advertise as their poster boy here is doing one hell of a job helping with recruitment.

think back to before Bush and tell me how money terror threats you saw live and in living color... were there no terror threats before Bush? of course there were, but my point is, that the question of motive does not make this beneficial to AQ, rather, to the Bush administration. i am not saying these are not real tapes, i am saying that we know nothing about the context of the tapes, their origin, or how old they are. and i find it highly irresponsible as well as prob. politically motivated that these things run the way they do like reality show.

There was a thread here a while ago that pointed out there is a .net aljazeera and a .com, - the .com one is sometimes mistaken for the arab news network and is used for propaganda assuming people will think it coming from.net.

anyways. if anyone has more info on this it that would be great.

I saw the clip on CNN as well and something is so off about it to me - or maybe it's because I just can't believe a dang thing that comes from those people at CNN anymore. Supposedly this tape shows the planning stages of the 911 attacks. Translations were not confimed or checked or whatever (?) at that time so the sub titles were not shown - just the video.

Looked cooked up to me. Stiff, posed, something way off. Unatural.

Am supposing the voice overs are the damning parts because the video certainly didn't have any, - unless you consider practicing stealth and surprise attacks on someone being against the international laws and geneva conventions. ;P
