Limbaugh has seen the whole video

On my way back to work after lunch this afternoon Rush Limbaugh stated that he has seen the entire ABC so called docudrama "Path to 911" which completely contradicts what ABC is contending. Just in case anyone wishes to follow-up on this information

to me that ABC is lying about how they are handling this and the talking point of premature criticism is invalid. They need to called on this one. I also think Rush made another faux pas followed by his statement that if Gumbo was white he would be off the air. You just gotta love it.

4. ABC is now saying that the movie isn't finished being edited, and that

to comment on it at this point is premature. I also gathered that they insinuated that no one has seen the entire movie yet, which was in response to criticism from former Clinton Administration officials that ABC denied their request to see it prior to the air date.

And now the 9/11 Families have come out against the movie as well. I think ABC must be taking an incredible amount of heat over this. As well they should.

I caught a bit of the show on my way back from lunch (top of the 1:00 hour) and he brought up that ABC was claiming that nobody had seen the entire thing - so maybe he thought he had seen the whole thing early on?

Damn, this frickin bastards. It's not enough that a right-wing hack write these lies
and presents it as facts based on the 9/11 Commission Report. They roll out a marketing
scheme--with conservative mouthpieces selling this snake oil.

How in the world can ABC do this? What in the hell is going on?

It appears that this movie is intended to galvanize the base--more than anything. Rove
and Company needed the base fired up, afraid and angry. Angry/fearful people are more likely to vote. RoveCo realized that putting gay issues on the ballot wasn't going to work this time.

This is why they are doing this. It's for their base. Their base is pissed about immigration,
out-of-control Federal spending, Junior's handling of Katrina and other conservative issues.
Many of them are not fired up, they way they have been during the past two elections.

They're out to set their base on fire and ride the terrorism wave into the 06 elections.

...and most of those Fundie freakazoids are just dumb enough to sit around the televisions---
with their aerosol cheese and Saltine crackers---shaking with fear and calling out to Junior
to save them from the bad, bad people---because the Dems (like Clinton) will make sure that
Al Queda shows up on their doorstep and kills their entire family.

ABC has been aggressively advancing its inaccurate and politically slanted miniseries, “The Path to 9/11,” to the right wing. Big players like Rush Limbaugh have been provided copies, as have obscure right-wing bloggers like Patterico.

But ABC has refused to provide a copy to President Clinton’s office. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and former National Security Adviser Samuel Berger have also requested copies of the film from ABC, and both have been denied. Both Berger and Albright are harshly criticized in the film in scenes that, according to former counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke, are “180 degrees from what happened.”

Here is an excerpt from Albright’s letter:

While I have requested a copy of the broadcast, I have yet to receive one. I have been informed by some who had been given the right to view the broadcast that the drama depicts scenes that never happened, events that never took place, decisions that were never made and conversations that never occurred; it asserts as fact things that are not fact.

For example, one scene apparently portrays me as refusing to support a missile strike against bin Laden without first alerting the Pakistanis; it further asserts that I notified the Pakistanis of the strike over the objections of our military. Neither of these assertions is true. In fact, the 9/11 commission reports states (page 117), “Since the missiles headed for Afghanistan had had to cross Pakistan, the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs was sent to meet with Pakistan’s army chief of staff to assure him the missiles were not coming from India.
