Mockumentary. Ask them if they have received study materials from Scholastic concerning this broadcast and if so, do they intend to use a false and biased fictional docudrama as the basis for class discussion.
Ask them to return the materials, unused and unopened, to Scholastic, with the message that propaganda masquerading as instruction isn't desired in our schools. And then discuss boycotting and termination of current and future purchases of Scholastic textbooks, if the company doesn't terminate it's relationship with ABC/Disney and the Republican Party. Then call Scholastic at (212) 343-6741 or (212) 343-4563 and very nicely inform them about your conversations with local school board officials and your future plans to block Scholastic textbook sales. Also tell them you are going to divest yourself of any stock holdings in Scholastic.
Call your local ABC affiliate and ask them not to broadcast this fictional drama posing as historical fact. Ask them to utilize alternative programing. Tell them you will boycott all their advertisers if they don't. Then call a few local advertisers you see on your local ABC station and tell them you will boycott their products if they support ABC with advertising dollars.
It is unacceptable for ABC/Scholastic to insert fiction into our national debate about terrorism, just prior to a national election, where handling of terrorism is a top issue. It's unconscionable.
