He's been a dedicated wingnut ever since he enlisted in 1966. Sometimes I think he's never forgiven me for protesting the Vietnam war; sometimes I think he's never forgiven me for appearing in the world. LOL. So I don't even try; but every now I can get my sil to listen a bit. My dad was a lifelong republican until Reagan broke the air traffic controllers' union; he was a union man and that broke his connection with the reps for the rest of his life.

35. It was so hard being at work today ...

They've put me on warning about my wearing an earphone in the office that's not used for dictation (bad secretary, bad), so I took my hair down from the clip to hide the wire ... and then I couldn't get the stream to work! I watched the threads go by ... LOL. So yes, I feel a whole lot better having heard his voice even though I knew pretty much what he had said. He talked about connecting heart-to-heart, and he's right about that.

Interestingly, the only other AirAmerica host that has connected with me that way was Marc Maron, just because he seemed so sort of fallible and vulnerable and sweet at the same time. I lived for the stories about his feral cats. He could also be an ass, and I once turned him off for two weeks because I didn't like something he said about Brian Wilson (of the Beach Boys).

A fairly regular customer came in to have dinner with a friend whom I'd never seen before. When I went over to their table to take their order, I saw that they had a copy of Michael Moore's "Dude, Where's My Country?". Turns out she's a good liberal, well read, AND a fan of Mike Malloy who, like the rest of us, is very upset about his dismissal from AAR. It was so great to happen upon like minded people in that place AND they gave me a great tip.

124. Norman's always been a big long kitty. He used to weigh around 20 lbs

My guys are huge (except for Milo). All they get is cat food, I don't give them treats and we NEVER give them our food. I have them on weight control food, but it's not working. I need to get them a treadmill or something.

kitties. I tried posting traditional photos that I'd scanned, but it failed miserably. They were either too large or too small. The fact that I'm the world's worst photographer didn't help the situation either. The only times I've taken nice pictures have been accidents. Edited because friends shouldn't let friends punctuate when they've had some wine.
