Just a reminder of Sherole Eaton's civil case hearing Friday, September 8, 2006 at 9:30 am at the Hocking County Courthouse in Logan, Ohio.
Sherole was fired for exercising her 1st amendment rights in conjunction with the Presidential Recount of 2004. Sherole had been asked along with other election workers to cheat in the recount to avoid a full hand count of the Hocking County ballots. She refused and came forward with an Affidavit to the Conyers Congressional Panel regarding the attempted fraud. Following the recount that was stopped prematurely by the Board of Elections, she was forced out on 'comp' time. She had surgery while on comp time for a blocked carotid artery, returned to work to be fired by the Board of Elections a few days later in May of 2005.
None of the other election workers came forward regarding the request to cheat on the recount. The Board never explained why they stopped the recount prematurely and never gave a public explanation regarding why Sherole was fired. It is rumored they have told Republican party members that the attorney representing their insurance company plans to humiliate Sherole at the hearing in an attempt to cause her to drop her case.
The courtroom will be open to the public. Those supporting Sherole are urged to attend.
Edit for spelling 2nd Edit - Can someone keep this kicked until after the hearing starts?
