So how the hell did WE end up being the bad guys?
Five years ago, after 9/11, the world was with the United States like never before. I remember Bush had universal support from everybody. Sure, I never liked the guy as a president or anything, never had much confidence in him, however as the person in the White House at the time you better believe I supported him going out and doing a good job leading our country after a tragedy like that. I hoped for him to do a good job. I PRAYED for him even.

Well, that didn't happen.

So now, 5 years later, our standing in the world has never been lower, our enemies have been emboldened like never before. Hatred against our country is at an all-time high. No doubt that a president with any leadership skills and intellectual capacity whatsoever would have rode that wave of sympathy and unity to greatness. Not Bush. And, that is an ineffable tragedy.

I will be so glad when this nightmare administration ends. Then maybe we can heal ourselves and be the good guys again.

8. oh no doubt
he's such a phony regarding religion. If you take the Beatitudes, which encompasses all you need to know about Jesus, well, Bush must be the worst Christian ever to sit in public office. It's a sick joke that people fall for that BS.

6. "I PRAYED for him even"
That was your first mistake. Had you followed the bastard's career carefully prior to 9/11, 9/11 would have been no surprise. It was easy as pie to predict recession, war, lies, more war and more lies back in 1999 when his name emerged as the candidate. For me 9/11 was sort of a relief, I expected the bombing of the San Onofre nuclear power plant or something worse based on his utter stupidity.

I knew he was a rat way back when he first ran for Governor, but damn if I didn't hope some miracle would happen and the guy would do something good after 9/11.

11. Afghanistan
Was excusable. Most everybody regarded the Taliban as extreme and replaceable

Iraq was not excusable.

Too many innocents died because the DoD thought it would save US soldiers lives; how many innocents can you sacrifice for one soldiers life? Too little control was maintained by the officers over their men. No plans were made for the occupation. No plans were made for the rebuilding apart from giving it to Haliburton et al.

In my opinion the Iraqi adventure has lead to the resurgence of the Taliban in Afghanistan so that now that war is becoming revitalised
