4. I've seen
a Christian pharmacy and a Christian Nails--freaking fingernails-- here in Henry County Georgia--a christian fascist suburban Atlanta stronghold. I don't know if it helps them or not but it makes me want to vomit blood. I'm also surrounded by mega-Church's and just yesterday I saw a hummer with a Jesus fish on it.

5. I would trust you a lot less
But I'm just a grumpy whackjob atheist.

:hi:

When it comes to this sort of thing, I always follow the reasoning of Ambrose Bierce. The quote is from my rapidly aging memory but I think it's close:

"The first Christian businessmen were the contractors who dug the post-holes on Calvary."

7. I'm seeing more and more of this batshit crap.....
I am a person with strong Christian beliefs, but I find businesses advertising themselves as "Jebus friendly" sickening. Religious personal faith should not be a matter of cheap marketing.

I can only speak for myself but I will NEVER hire a company or bid for a service from a business bidding itself as a "Christian company". Thats tacky, cheap, and and offensive to anyone with a true religious spirit.

Religious beliefs are intensely private and personal. Using them to drum up business is nauseating.

13. People that do that shit really piss me off.....
How dare they cheapen the individual they claim is sacred and holy? Its nonsensical.

If you do believe in God, fine.

If you don't believe in God, fine.

It just pisses me off that they try to use God to sell product. Thats tacky, cheap, and-to me-indefensible.

10. Would avoid you as part of a cult -
Jesus would not need advertising - actions speak louder than words
Right now those who say they are christians seem to be wackos and exhibit cult behavior

15. What about the fish with chips?
I saw one of those Jesus fish with "n chips" written inside and I just loved it. I think I would trust a company that did that. :)

Interesting to note the fundie, *-lovin bumper stickers on cars who first tailgate me relentlessly, then speed up to pass me. Yeah, that's teachin this little pantheistic chick a lesson! Burn them dinosaurs so you can be first at the redlight, eejit!

edited to clarify what bumper stickers I'm talkin about

14. Think bigger.......
Put Rev. Dr. in front of your name and get yourself a fat government contract.
Or start a TV broadcast!

Do it up right and some folks will just give you their homes and children.

I might not trust you any more, but apparently some would.

If you see those words or symbols on one of those cheap ads for house painters or contractors, there's a pretty good chance that whoever hires them will end up doing the work themselves, or end up repairing new damage. And replacing the contents of their liquor cabinet.
I'm sure some use them with utmost sincerity, far too many will use them in a predatory way.

17. Bierce again
Christian, n. One who believes that the New Testament is a divinely inspired book admirably suited to the spiritual needs of his neighbor. One who follows the teachings of Christ in so far as they are not inconsistent with a life of sin.

and ... The gambling known as business looks with austere disfavor upon the business known as gambling.

-- Ambrose Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary (1911)
