A 5 Year 9-11 Anniversary Reminder: BUSH KNEW
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/05/16/attack/main509294.shtml

from 2002

(CBS) President Bush was told in the months before the Sept. 11 attacks that Osama bin Laden's terrorist network might hijack U.S. passenger planes - information which prompted the administration to issue an alert to federal agencies - but not the American public.

CBS News National Security Correspondent David Martin says the warning was in a document called the President's Daily Brief, which is considered to be the single most important document that the U.S. intelligence community turns out. The document did not, however, mention the possibility of planes being flown into buildings.

White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said that while President Bush was told last summer that bin Laden's al Qaeda network might hijack planes, "until the attack took place, I think it's fair to say that no one envisioned that as a possibility."

However, a federal report issued exactly two years before the Sept. 11 attacks contrasts with that statement.

That one statement pisses me off more and more every time I hear the lame ass excuse: "no one envisioned that as a possibility"

His response has no credibility once that briefing was revealed.

a page number would be? Why would they redact the page number?
Could it be it says "Page 1 of 11" and "Page 2 of 11"?

The German weeklies Die Zeit and Der Spiegel said the document
was 11 pages long.

21. Bu tthat daily briefing - memo was only a black flag!
SO that when it was finally exposed we would collectively say
these two things "Gawd this Bush guy is Du-UMB!"
and Two It was Bin Laden that was behind the nine eleven attacks.

23. Bush did not care. He had diplomats dealing with the Taliban.
Bush was doing negotiations with the Taliban, so why would he want to do anything drastic to some of the people the Taliban invited into their country of Afghanistan.

24. Indeed he did have diplomats daling withthe Taliban
And those diplomats told the Afghan leaders that they
could allow for an oil pipeline to be built through
their country and receive a river of gold, or NOT
ALLOW it and receive a carpeting of bombs
How do I know? CIA website (the official site!) listed such
dealings for several years (2001 to 2002 at least - not
sure if still listed)

5. What did Europe know?
As an American living in Europe, I'm fascinated by this myopic discussion about what the U.S. president knew. Moat all of the terrorists on 9/11 came from Europe as far as I know--Hamburg University, Spain, etc. The U.S. congress wrote their investigation about the failures leading up to 9/11 which went around the world. But NOT ONE investigation was made in Europe, and the amazing thing is that I have never found a single European that ever even thought to ask the question,"Why?" "What did Gerhardt Schroeder know?" "What did the great French intelligence tell Jacques Chirac?" "What did the fabled British Intelligence know?" "What did Spanish Intelligence know about Al-Qaeda inside their country?" Are these questions so insignificant that people can't even think to raise them, or is just that people can't think, period?

7. I thought 15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia?
The hijackers' greatest avowed enemy was the USA. The attack happened to the USA. There were repeated warnings to the US president about Qaida activity. Why are you in high dudgeon about the lack of demand for investigating what Europeans knew? Compared to the abject failure the US government proved to be in the events surrounding 9/11, what Europeans knew, thus are responsible for, doesn't even begin to equal in importance or relevance.

8. I CALL BULLSHIT on this line:
The document did not, however, mention the possibility of planes being flown into buildings.

PDB:

"Nevertheless, FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks, including recent surveillance of federal buildings in New York."

It DOES mention Hijackings. Had they fucking READ it, they might have done something to prvent hijackings, thus preventing the planes crashing into buildings.

This is like being told your enemy has access to a bazooka and wants to use it, and you, after ignoring his big bazooka & after the carnage saying "Nobody told me he'd shoot the bazooka at my HEAD!"

scheduled for that day. A company called Ptech (now GoAgile) had access to FAA, DOD, AirForce, and WhiteHouse computers according to Rachel Ehrenfeld's article Dollars of Terror

And apparently GoAgile STILL has WH, DOD, FAA, etc. etc. computer access and government contracts. This is what you'd call a 'smoking gun' that makes Dubai Ports pale in comparison.

Qadi.

Al Qadi was under investigation by the Chicago FBI agent Robert Wright
before 9/11, but the investigations of al Qadi and PTech were obstructed
in a variety of ways and Wright was eventually removed from the team
before the team was shut down in 2000.

After 9/11 al Qadi was identified as a suspected terrorist financier and
his assets were frozen. Wright wrotes a book, but the FBI has not permitted
him to publish it.

19. And the NSA 'spiked' investigation into financing simultaneously to 9-11
Edited on Fri Sep-08-06 12:49 PM by EVDebs
""The Bush Administration has expressed shock at disclosures that Pakistan, our ally in the war on terror, has been running a nuclear secrets bazaar. In fact, according to the British news teams' sources within US intelligence agencies, shortly after President Bush's inauguration, his National Security Agency (NSA) effectively stymied the probe of Khan Research Laboratories, the Pakistani agency in charge of the bomb project. CIA and other agents told BBC they could not investigate the spread of “Islamic Bombs” through Pakistan because funding appeared to originate in Saudi Arabia....

"There was a major policy shift" at the National Security Agency. Investigators were ordered to "back off " from any inquiries into Saudi Arabian financing of terror networks, especially if they touched on Saudi royals and their retainers. That put the Bin Ladens, a family worth a reported $12 billion and a virtual arm of the Saudi royal household, off limits for investigation. Osama was the exception; he remained a wanted man, but agents could not look too closely at how he filled his piggy bank. The key rule of any investigation, "follow the money," was now violated, and investigations-at least before September 11-began to die.""

He wasn't even President at that time and you can't Impeach him because he isn't President NOW :)

Should probably use the proper wording and vernacular for the Bush Crowd.

"Bush KNOWED."
