Many of you might not be ready yet to not buy Gameplan (I already bought it and am not sure that I can cancel yet) or the coming Fullcourt basketball package.
But ESPN and ABC almost have a monopoly on much of collge football games in their contract with ABC/ESPN. Up until now I suspect there's nothing that threatens that gravy train for them on that. But if enough of us college fans say to the NCAA that ABC/Disney has crossed the line and that we are boycotting getting these pay-per-view packages as well as other things they are broadcasting, perhaps that might give the NCAA some ample ammunition to put pressure on ABC if renegotiation of those contracts is happening any time soon. Other professional sports teams might also be someone to talk to in the same way, but I suspect that the NCAA, as a parent organization to many public institutions around the country with more direct accountability to citizens and the government, might have less "corporate" viewpoints on ABC's actions here and be more of an "armed" spokesman with clout of a lot of dollars here to go after ABC.
Go here to NCAA's public relation's email page and hit them with emails. If enough of us send them in today to here, perhaps ABC might get a few calls from NCAA and start panicking some more, which might be something that helps them if they are teetering on a decision to cancel this weekend's broadcast or not.
