7. Hey Richardo! Been awhile! I'm not Bob Dole, but Bob & I have at least
one thing in common -- I'm a woman, so neither of us can get an erection.

Dems did not "start" WW1, or WW2...etc. I know you get my point.

2. You could conclude that wars are started by Dems
An old saying I heard:

Republicans get us into recessions

Democrats get us into wars

But other than the Gulf War, most of the other 20th century wars have started under Democratic administrations.

Dec 7, 1941 - Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor; Hitler issues the Night and Fog decree.

Dec 8, 1941 - United States and Britain declare war on Japan.

Dec 11, 1941 - Germany declares war on the United States.

ergo, Hitler started a war with the US.

but Adolph was a dolt sometimes.

So why did the US get into WWI? That was an American decision.

21. Sinking of the Lusitania was what we were told in school.
On May 7, 1915 the Lusitania was torpedoed by a German submarine, the U-20. The Lusitania sank after a subsequent massive internal explosion blew out her starboard bow. The sinking galvanized American opinion against Germany's policy of unrestricted submarine warfare and played a role in the United States' later entry into World War I on April 17, 1917.

16. Depends upon viewpoint of course but
Let's see.

WWI Wilson, Democrat. We didn't start the war. We joined it rather late.
WWII Roosevelt, Democrat. See above.
Korea. Not considered a war officially but we know better. Sadly, Truman, a Democrat.

Vietnam. Hard to peg. I think some advisors were there under IKE. When exactly the war began would be hard to say. Generally though Johnson, Democrat, gets the blame for that one.

Spanish American War, McKinley, Republican.
Gulf War I, Bush Republican.
Grenada "War" Reagan, Republican
Panama Invasion (and massacre) Bush, Republican
Afghanistan, Bush, Republican
Gulf War II Bush, Republican.

And then there are Somalia and Bosnia, Bush and Clinto respectively, and I am suddenly too tired to go on.

We are a warring people for sure.

5. Nobody wins in war
People lose, some people lose more than others...

"Winning in War" is just statist propaganda to keep the People in line and slaves of the State...

10. You make a good point
Wars are never complete victories

Civil War- next 100 years of 2nd class citizenship for African-Americans

WW1- Inconclusive victory, global balance of power wrecked, rise of communism and fascism

WW2- Occupation of Eastern Europe by the USSR

Korea- armistice line right where the old border was

Vietnam- negotiated tie. Lost in overtime

Bosnia- Still under EU/NATO occupation

Kosovo- Still under EU/NATO occupation

Gulf War - That's a win according to the stated pre-war goals. Saddam stayed in power
