“we’re fighting for our way of life, and our ability to live in freedom.”
A quote by George W Bush.

If he truly believes we are fighting for our way of life and our very freedom, shouldn't we have more troops in Iraq? That seems pretty important when you're fighting for your "way of life". Instead of mobilizing the entire nation, re-instating the draft, and asking for sacrifice from every American, what does he do? He proposes taxcut after taxcut for the wealthiest? Either he's lying thru his teeth or his priorities are terribly and dangerously misplaced? Which is it?

2. Our "way of life" is unsustainable
Edited on Fri Sep-08-06 10:38 AM by Selatius
It's a way of life sustained on the suffering of billions in the third world. Bush's comforts and the comforts most Americans enjoy, unfortunately, come after raping weaker peoples for their resources to enrich American capitalists. It's the same story in other parts of the industrialized world. Industrialized capitalism cannot endure if billions are not exploited. They and their resources must be exploited for capitalism to continue to operate. One day, there will be a reckoning for past crimes.

3. He's speaking for the "have mores" only
As far as protecting "our way of life" he means the priveleged plutocrats. The standard of living of most Americans is eroding.

Our Constitution protects "our way of life" but he with Congressional cooperation has destroyed it.
