Path to 9/11 Produced By Evangelical Activists Who Sought To ‘Transform Hollywood’



The Path to 9/11 is a movie rife with historical inaccuracies that blames President Clinton while heaping praise on President Bush. The docudrama was written by avowed conservative Cyrus Nowrasteh, who once spoke on a panel entitled: “Rebels With A Cause: How Conservatives Can Lead Hollywood’s Next Paradigm Shift.” But the ideological slant behind this movie goes far deeper than Nowrasteh. Research conducted by a reader at Democratic Underground has revealed that the Path to 9/11 was the result of a project hatched out by a small group of evangelical activists who sought to “transform Hollywood from the inside out.” Here is what we know:

Cunningham Linked To YWAM. David Cunningham was contracted by ABC to direct Path to 9/11. Cunningham is the son of Loren and Darlene Cunningham, the founders of Youth With a Mission (YWAM), a Christian evangelical group that actively tries to get “youth into short-term mission work and to give them opportunities to reach out in Jesus’ name.”

YWAM Sponsored the Film Institute To Change Hollywood. YWAM created an “auxillary” group called the Film Institute, which was explicitly aimed at achieving a “Godly transformation and revolution TO and THROUGH the Film and Television industry.”

Film Institute Began the “Untitled History Project.” The Film Institute’s first project was simply referred to as the “Untitled History Project” (UHP). In July 2005, Fox News reported that filming had begun on an ABC miniseries about 9/11 that ABC officials and producers were referring to it as the “Untitled History Project.” A production company entitled “UHP Productions,” which was co-founded with Disney began filming Path to 9/11 in late 2005.

UHP Became Path to 9/11. UHP Productions has only produced one movie. Harvey Keitel, who stars as FBI special agent John O’Neill in the movie, said that when he received the original script, “it said ABC History Project.”

Pretty clear to me that YWAM didn't expect they would be exposed. Keep digging, I think they're on the run.

How can they deny involvement when TFI (The Film Institute) is an "auxiliary branch" of YWAM and when David L. Cunningham is the son of YWAM's founder?

If you scan or search through the comments for one from a "Margret" left on 7/26/2006 4:27 PM, you'll see where she says:

I am still in LA, still working on 9/11.

She also says "miss you guys," which implies that she's part of their group, which is also part of the whole Hawaii-based outfit reported here. She is most likely one of the "interns on the set" of 9/11. I wouldn't be surprised if there's also fundamentalist funding involved in this, and much more.

Yeah, I hope that in some small way, my blog comment might have helped to spread the TRUTH about Path to 9/11.

This is more than a Rove/Republican scheme. The film company responsible for creating Path to 9/11 is “The Film Institute” (TFI), a branch of one of the largest evangelical organizations in the world, Youth With a Mission (YWAM). In fact, YWAM’s founder, Loren Cunningham, is the father of Path to 9/11’s director, David L. Cunningham. TFI, YWAM’s film division, was created in 2005 with the express purpose of “transforming” the film and television industries. One of YWAM’s member’s website states TFI is “dedicated to a Godly transformation and revolution TO and THROUGH the Film and Television industry.” It is most likely YWAM’s money that is behind the production ($30M) and mass distribution of this propaganda film (commercial-friee airing on ABC, iTunes downloads, free Internet streaming, free mass distribution of the film and “study materials” to public schools, and distribution abroad to the U.K.’s BBC and to India). And YWAM has been very secretive about their role in creating and distributing this film; it was only through extensive sleuthing by a number of Democratic Underground members that the YWAM connection to this film was unearthed. Such secrecy suggests a highly diabolical scheme to subversively brainwash the American public, most notable our youth.
