*'s comments about the secret CIA prisons, and torture techniques brought back to mind an article I read a few years back about the use of a 'suspects' children as a way of getting 'suspects' to talk.-

At first, Bush said in his address Wednesday, Abu Zubaydah resisted interrogation efforts. Then gradually he opened up. Abu Zubaydah said Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was the architect of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Abu Zubaydah provided physical descriptions of al-Qaida operatives who he said were planning another attack. One of them was detained on his way to the United States.

Then he clammed up again. That was when CIA interrogators resorted to what Bush called an “alternative set of procedures.” The interrogators were carefully selected, and they received long hours of special training.

The “alternative” interrogation techniques, Bush said, “were tough, and they were safe and lawful and necessary.”

Abu Zubaydah’s information, along with a bribe to one al-Qaida operative and eavesdropping on cell phone calls, helped lead to the capture of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and to another alleged terrorist, Ramzi Binalshibh.

Once in custody, Mohammed provided information that helped disrupt planning for another attack on the United States, Bush said.

The details of the CIA program were made public in an extraordinary speech Wednesday by Bush to justify the CIA program, which is suspended until Congress takes action to clarify whether it is legal.

Bush’s account also shined light on one of the most secretive chapters in U.S. efforts to roll up those responsible for Sept. 11 and prevent new attacks. For the first time, Bush named names and eschewed generalities.

Boys quizzed about their terrorist boss father

Two young sons of Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the September 11 attacks, are being used by the CIA to force their father to talk.

Yousef al-Khalid, nine, and his brother, Abed al-Khalid, seven, were taken into custody in Pakistan in September when intelligence officers raided a flat in Karachi which their father had fled hours earlier. They were found cowering behind a wardrobe with a senior al-Qaeda member.

The boys have been held in Pakistan, but this weekend they were flown to America to be questioned about their father.

CIA interrogators confirmed on Saturday that the boys were staying at a secret address......

I wonder how many people know this.... or care.... I do- It bothered me in 03 it bothers me even more now..... especially when this kind of stuff is being passed off as 'acceptable'-

1. It wouldn't surprise me one bit.

The CIA has gone completely out of control over the last several years. Ever since Hitler started allowing them free rein to monitor all of us along with the FBI and NSA. I'm not talking about the German guy either. He wants to monitor us because he's scared. He is scared that he will not be able to control the country after he leaves office. He is scared of losing his power and he is scared that as the truth comes out, and it is and it will, he will no longer be able to dominate us or the people he is oppressing in the Middle East.
Tonight, after I have prayed to the Earth Mother, I am going to beat my drum for peace and for an end to all of the violence and spying on America.
If we don't get Peace soon, we will live just like 1984 and the White House Nazi is going to claim it is for our protection.
