We can get that country back. Right now.
Just open your mouth and remind members of Congress that they have a sworn duty to defend the constitution from the White House attackers.
Each citizen demanding Impeachment steps onto the path to a more perfect union.
The ONLY way to prove our principles are alive and well is to defend them against Bush and Cheney's fascist fantasies.
Whatever else people across the globe may have thought of us before 2001, they knew the United States was a force to be reckoned with -- and that, if they appealed to the goodwill of the American people, we could mobilize that power in the service of fairness, sanity, and justice.
Now, they understand (or are quickly learning) that appealing to us is futile. We surrendered the sovereignty of We the People. The men charged with executing our will are violating it. They prove their disdain for our will and the dictates of our Constitution with every new crime.
Nations that, before 2001, were willing to offer policy support, warnings or key intelligence, or cooperation for mutual socio-economic advantage, are now saying "You're On Your Own."
As long as we leave governing power in the hands of men who are a law onto themselves, options that would be available to a legitimate American President will remain closed to us.
If we restore legitimate leadership in the White House, the doors of possibility that are closed to the fascist war criminals will open.
--------- Is Impeachment Really the ONLY Way Out? (Yes. Choose. Impeachment or Appeasement)
Truth matters. This is a fight for our national soul. Silence on Impeachment is a form of national denial. Silence on Impeachment supports the delusion that this is "politics as usual."
Treason is defined as "Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign." In the United States, it is the collective will of the people that is sovereign.
The occupants of the White House terrorized us into war with baseless threats of annilation. They torture and commit war crimes, claiming they must become monsters to protect us from monsters. They believe their power has no limits, and they take our silence on Impeachment as confirmation of that belief.
These actions are treason against our constitutional democracy.
Bush and Cheney have made it crystal clear that nothing short of Impeachment will put an end to their treasonous exercise of unrestrained power.
