What J.C. Gardner of Bastrop remembers most about 9/11 five years ago was being at work--he worked at Con Agra--and everyone talking about the planes crashing into the towers in New York, killing thousands.

Is America safe? Gardner isn't sure.

"There are so many foreigners here (in America). We don't know who is who," he said. "We shouldn't be worried about them coming over here. We should be worried about the ones who are already here."

Does he agree the United States should be fighting in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan?

"If they did us that way, we should return the favor."
