They are looking forward with relish to apologizing to everyone for defending ourselves. Many recent LTTE’s have attempted to shift the focus off the Bush administration's countless errors, miscalculations, fabrications and incompetence onto a make-believe “Liberal media”. The American people are smarter than this - we know that dog won’t hunt anymore.

Iraq lies, greed, corporatism, cronyism, social Darwinism, out of control spending, unsecured borders, a shrinking middle class, the absence of a progressive energy policy, the Neocon agenda, a rubber stamp Congress and vanishing pensions are not caused by the “Liberal” media. Using Cold War-era fear mongering, right-wing think tank talking points, and blaming Clinton is no way to govern a superpower.

I urge those who want a return to government accountability, responsibility, vision, strength and a better future for the country to vote Democrat in November.

A NOTE TO THE UNINVOLVED AMERICAN

I know you have a busy life and no time for politics, so let me give you a short summary of all you need to know about the state of affairs in the nation today.

The Republicans are liars and thieves. Unfortunately, they are very good liars and thieves, and most of those smiling faces on your television sets are trying to help them lie and steal.

They told lies to get us into a war. They lie about decorated American war heroes like John Murtha, who is doing his best to save the lives of your children. They lie about everything.

And they steal. They are stealing your savings by running up huge debts that you, your children and your grandchidren will have to pay off. They and their rich friends are stealing from you at the gas pump, at your doctor's office, and at the grocery store. They are plotting right now to steal your Social Security and Medicare.

That is all you really need to know about the Republicans. They lie and steal.

The Democrats are trying to save you from the worst crimes of the Republicans, but you don't hear much about that because those smiling, lying faces on the TV screens don't want you to know.

There is one more thing you need to be aware of. On November 7 there is going to be an election. This will be your chance to help the Democrats defend you from the Republican thieves and liars.

I think many of the right wing LTTE's, callers to talk shows, etc. are the product of GOP-funded think tanks and campaigns.
I don't believe the American public is so brazenly and proudly stupid.

4. You got it re: think tanks

A guy I know who is running for office recently told me about a college classmate of his who is doing just that. She gets people to write letters and call into shows to defend the oil industry and criticize Canadian-style health coverage.

last week. All little Stepford girls working (interning) for the Heritage Foundation, AEI, Family this and that...

Right here on DU we encourage people to do those things. Like with the current ABC situation. Same with several other sites and organizations. But the difference is we do it in the open and don't have to resort to paying people.

They do it, I believe, to further their own selfish interests. I know because I used to vote repuke. I would vote for whoever I thought would
let me keep my money. Pure greed.

I didn't have a worldview in my early twenties, but I do now, and I stand up for justice, common sense and truth whenever possible.
