Did you ever see the movie "The 13th Warrior?" Well, it may not be considered great art, but Antonio Banderas' line when he realized that the monsters the warriors were fighting were just other men seems appropriate at the end of this very eventuful week. I know I've been doing a lot of ranting about standing up and not acting like victims this morning. But I think we've learned this week just that lesson--that these monsters are men...only other men--and are defeatable. Don't lose sight of that truth. Regardless of how they constitute themselves as a group--party or corporation--or work as the lone wolf (like Coulter or Horowitz), the are just men.
Thus do I submit to you also the Prayer of the Viking from the same film--also somehow appropriate to the fight this week.
"Lo, there do I see my father Lo, there do I see my mother and my sisters and my brothers Lo, there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning Lo, they do call to me They bid me take place among them in the Halls of Valhalla Where the brave may live forever..."
