know. They make it difficult to know what's real. We also have state Democratic Party leadership in the legislature that is perhaps even more collusive with the Bushites than the Dem Congressional leaders. So here's what happened...
Circa 2000: Republican Bill Jones is Sec of State, and he and his chief aide Alfie Charles lay the groundwork for corporate control of our elections--for instance, laws permitting TRADE SECRET, PROPRIETARY programming code in electronic voting systems--and promote a rash of county purchases of expensive, insecure and extremely insider hackable electronic voting systems, with Sequoia being one of the favored vendors (also Diebold and ES&S); all of this prep for the so-called "Help America Vote Act," coming down the Republican pipeline.
2002: The biggest crooks in the Anthrax Congress, Tom Delay and Bob Ney (now indicted or resigned in bribery scandals), abetted by Bilderberg 'Democrat' Christopher Dodd (Lieberman's counterpart in CT) and others, engineer the "Help America Vote Act," which appropriates nearly $4 billion to fast-track electronic voting systems all over the county. The bill fails to place any controls of the use of "trade secret," proprietary vote tabulation; fails to require a paper trail; encourages paperless voting (no recount or audit even possible); permits secret industry "testing of the machines); and fails to control lavish lobbying, "revolving door" employment and other corrupt practices.
Late 2002: Democrat Kevin Shelley is elected Sec of State on a reform platform. He begins investigating the security of electronic voting machines. Jones and Charles go to work for Sequoia--in an outstanding example of the corrupt practice of "revolving door" employment. Shelley bans "revolving door" employment in the Sec of State's office, and begins riding herd on county election officials, like Connie McCormack in Los Angeles, who have become advocates for Diebold and paperless voting.
Early 2003: Shelley is barely in office, when the Schwarzenegger/G. Schultz/Ken Lay/Enron cabal files their petition for Recall of Gov. Gray Davis (who was trying to get back the $9 billion that Enron stole from Calif.--a theft that changed Calif from a state with a huge surplus to one that was in the red). The Recall, the first big election to take place since the onset of the electronic voting coup, ends up with 125 candidates on the ballot, making distributive shifts of votes from major candidates to any number of minor candidates easy and undetectable. Time Magazine and Larry King additionally lard famous actor Schwarzenegger with millions of dollars worth of free publicity prior to Recall vote. The corporate news monopolies fail to report on the Schwarzenegger/Ken Lay meeting in May 2001, and completely ignore the real issue in the campaign--protecting Bush/Cheney's biggest donor, Ken Lay (and Davis doesn't make the matter clear either). Schwarzenegger, not surprisingly, "wins."
2004: Due to many problems of electronic voting machine failure, breakdowns during elections, and growing concerns about election security, and the secret programming--all evident in the Recall--Shelly has intensified his investigations of electronic voting. In late spring, six months before the 2004 presidential election, he sues Dieobld for their lies about the security of their machines, de-certifies the worst machines (the touchscreens), and demands to see Diebold source code. He also provides Californians with a paper ballot option at the polling place. Shelley is at this point the national leader on election integrity and is inspiring other election officials to look carefully at their purchase of these machines. But behind him is a snakepit of county election officials--led by Connie McCormack--who are seething about Shelley's reforms, particularly about their inability to pay off Diebold and ES&S with big electronic contracts for their crapass technology. (McCormack is best friends with--wines, dines and vacations with--Deborah Seiler, Diebold's chief salesperson in Calif.) Shelley has withheld the money appropriated by Tom Delay, Bob Ney & Co. for purchase of this equipment, pending investigations of its security and reliability. Aside from McCormack, most of the county officials opposed to Shelley are Republicans from rightwing counties. Just before the 2004 election, allegations of corruption against Shelley appear in the corporate news monopoly press. The allegations are vague and flimsy and seem to go away. The 2004 election occurs. Kerry wins the state by a 10% margin, statewide, but, oddly, Barbara Boxer wins back her Senate seat (against none other than Bill Jones) by a 20% margin, statewide. All of the difference between Kerry and Boxer's margin of victory is to be found in the Republican Counties (--a shave of Kerry votes that probably was done in the central electronic tabulators). Shelley, however, is now distracted, big time, by an effort to oust him from office.
2005: The national Democratic Party places an "Iron Curtain" over any talk of election fraud. Verboten. Taboo. In concert with the corporate news monopolies. In Calif, investigations against Kevin Shelley rage. One of the allegations is "misuse of HAVA funds." Turns out this had mostly to do with Shelley's withholding the funds (as was his right and duty) for purchase of Diebold touchscreens (which had been de-certified). Indeed, every allegation against Shelley turns out to be substanceless (he is later completely exonerated of any wrongdoing by the Calif Atty General). McCormack tells a state legislative committee that she wants to "bulldoze" the Sec of State's office (to get that money). The EAC (Bushite Feds in charge of pushing crapass electronic voting machines all over the country) threaten an investigation of Shelley. He is without any personal funds for his defense. (Tells you something about Shelley.) The new Democratic legislative leadership (the old guard had all retired, just the year before), with a 2 to 1 majority in the state legislature, abandons Shelley, fails to defend him, strongarms other Dems into silence, and Shelley, who cannot do his job under these besieged circumstances, and with no party support, resigns in Feb. 2004. Schwarzenegger promptly appoints Republican Diebold shill Bruce McPherson--with the full cooperation of the Dem Party leadership--who has now illegally re-certified Diebold touchscreens (the machines at issue in the recent CA-50 special election; election personnel took these hackable machines home overnight and kept them in insecure locations for days).
2006: The Calif legislator who introduced a impeachment bill against Bush and Cheney, recently, was interviewed by Randi Rhodes. (It was discovered by an Illinois legislator that a state legislature can introduce a bill of impeachment, as a privileged resolution, to Congress, and all Congressional business must stop while it is considered.) Randi asked this man, "Why aren't the Calif Democrats immediately passing this bill of impeachment and sending it to Congress? You have a 2 to 1 majority!" He answer was that some of the Democrats in the Calif legislature are trying to "work with" Schwarzenegger on several joint proposals, and don't want to ruffle Republican feathers.
Thus we have lost the integrity of our elections in California, at the hands of our own Party, as much as at the hands of Bushites. The message that went out across the land, in the "swift-boating" of Kevin Shelley, was that if you fight this election theft system, you will suffer the same fate. No doubt some state Dems failed to support him out of fear. Others are corrupt. All are now beholden to Diebold, ES&S and Sequoia, and the corrupt county election officials who work with these corporations to keep our elections private and out of our control.
You ask: "Is it possible that CA Dems feel they can 'Mold' this AUSTRIAN DUAL CITIZEN to their Goals...?" It's the other way around. Schwarz and Bushites and Diebold are molding the Democratic leadership into "good Germans."
Whether they can mold the majority of Californians into "good Germans" I don't know. I don't think so. The rank and file Dems are up in arms, and I have reason to believe that moderate/liberal Republicans are not happy. (For one thing, this interesting '04 evidence that seems to point to a lot of Kerry votes being stolen in REPUBLICAN counties--no doubt to help pad Bush's popular majority. If what I suspect is true, Kerry also won the state--like Boxer--with something closer to a 20% margin, much of it Republican votes.)
I am simply mind-boggled by the Democratic Party leadership's silence--and apparent collusion--on Bushite corporate control of our elections. I have been a Democratic Party member, and loyal voter and supporter, for 40 years. The Kevin Shelley "swift-boating" is the ugliest thing I have ever seen in Calif politics. And there is no reason to believe anything but that the national party, at that time, went along with it. (I don't know that Dean would have.) We have a grave problem in our own party, folks. And nothing short of a massive, grass roots, citizen BOYCOTT of these election theft machines, by Absentee Ballot voting, can remedy it. Neither the Repubs nor the Dems are going to give us back our right to vote. We have to TAKE it back.
Bust the Machines--Vote Absentee! If enough people vote by Absentee Ballot (--and many already are--it's up to 50% in Los Angeles), we can FORCE reform NOW.
